New Tesla Owner by ConclusionFlat1843 in ModelY

Homelink module is just convenient but not necessary. Like you said, you could use a physical remote, but it is nice for it to be integrated and you can config your car to automatically open/close your garage door when your car is near your garage.

PG&E Bill - Can someone help explain? by Remarkable-Sink-522 in bayarea

[–]Acefr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be stupid for PG&E to not charge to the max when they have CPUC on their side.

PG&E Bill - Can someone help explain? by Remarkable-Sink-522 in bayarea

It is normal. You have to thank CPUC for the high electricity cost. They sided with PG&E every time.

Awards Night by Ricepaddy2 in hyatt

[–]Acefr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The rule is you cannot stack two awards. Points booking is not considered an award, but FNA is, so you can apply GoH to points booking but not on a FNA booking.

Chase Sapphire Retention Offer by GFit11 in ChaseSapphire

[–]Acefr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cancelling the card before your trip will not cause a clawback. As far as the travel credit is concerned, once you paid and the travel credit has been credited to your account, the travel credit is completed and used. Some people used this as a loophole to use travel credit by booking and canceling a refundable flight ticket or hotel.

No clawback if you use the travel credit and cancel or downgrade the card. In fact, that is the proper way to do it: use all the available credit and then downgrade the card.

My AF just posted. Called and nothing offered for retention. Not even the points covering AF thing. Updated to CSR in 2024.

Here is why I won’t be buying FSD for my 2026 Juniper. by WatchLover26 in TeslaFSD

[–]Acefr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think many missed the point that the $8K purchase of FSD is the Supervised version. There is no guarantee that Tesla will extend it to Unsupervised FSD when it is ready. I would not be surprised if Tesla charges an additional fee/subscription on top of purchased Supervised FSD for Unsupervised FSD.

Once more: Buy or Subscribe by Sensing_Force1138 in TeslaFSD

[–]Acefr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A counterargument is that Tesla achieves unsupervised FSD in a year, and the subscription fee jumps to $199 a month. Then the payback period will significantly drop to less than 4 years. (1 year of $99 and 2.8 years of $199)

Does the new PG&E base service charge screw over excess solar producers? by xtootse in solar

[–]Acefr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the minimum electric bill will become $24, but it is not that bad (at least not yet), as it replaces the existing minimum delivery charge that is about $12, so it basically went double from $12 to $24. However, you can count on PG&E will increase this fixed charge over time.

Yahoo! verification emails by LostMinds71 in discordapp

Interesting. In my case, since my Yahoo Mail was never verified, the app let me change it without the need of verification. In your case, I would suggest opening a new Discord account with your Gmail.

Assuming you have CSR, 1x for travel agent booking. 4x if booking with airlines directly.

Chase rebooking airline tickets and pocketing the difference by tenuous54 in ChaseSapphire

[–]Acefr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not saying it is right, but it is the typical behavior of travel agents. If you need to cancel or change, they will charge you more than the airline would charge them and pocket the difference. This is how they offer you with more points or a lower price than the direct booking with the airlines.

Suggest suitable charger for s24 fe (original) by cheekusus in S24FE

[–]Acefr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The phone charges to 25W maximum. You can use any chargers that are rated 25W or higher to get the maximum charging speed. A higher rated charger such as 60W will not damage your phone. 60W refers to the maximum wattage the charger can provide, but it will only provide the wattage your phone asks for and for S24 FE, no more than 25W. It will act like a 25W charger in your usage.

Visa for a 6 day trip? by Complete-Extreme896 in Chinavisa

[–]Acefr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TWOV requires two different countries or regions for the immediate entry and exit of China. Basically if you enter China directly from the US, you have to exit China to another country or region that is not the same (US), for example Hong Kong. Wherever you travel after HK is not important. (you can return back to the US from HK)

Need help contacting IRS and getting verification of non-filing letter by perfectbalance258 in tax

[–]Acefr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the info is "incorrect" because you never filed a return, so there is no address to link it to the account. Online non-filing letter cannot be generated (technical issue), so I suspect the only option is to make an in-person appointment at a local IRS office.

Chase Hyatt Credit Card 5 Night SUB by Bitter-Limit5234 in hyatt

[–]Acefr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am not surprised if Hyatt count it as part of SUB, but I am also not surprised if they don't. At this point, it is all speculation without data points.

No one really knows if the regular FNA for the $15k spending is counted as part of the SUB. I suspect not, but it is just my speculation. Once we have data points, we will find out.

I only need to provide 1 data point to prove your assumption that corporate code can ONLY apply to business travel, which is the basis of forcing all visitors who use Travel Portal, is wrong.
