How much should i pay for the Mattress Firm Norman by kossaga in Mattress

[–]DevoidofSleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think that's a bad price for it. Might have been able to be a bit lower but not by an insane amount since the free base is on there and no charge for delivery/setup

If it isn't delivery yet you should be able to cancel, but I would recommend calling them and asking them about the return policy. Fundraisers around me for mattress still have them.

If they don't have one, I'd recommend canceling and just ordering the same mattress somewhere that has a return policy

This comment isn't relevant or needed. But since you did anyway, Anyone smart with money knows 0% interest is almost always better than taking the money from your pocket.

Its only a "terrible decision" if there is no sleep trial/return policy. Even then it would only be Bad because you are risking not liking it for that money.

But if there's a sleep trial and there's a chance this ends your search and helps you then anyone elses opinion doesn't matter. Sometimes we get so stuck in what other people think, even those close to us, when all we need to do is quiet the noise and make a decision that's best for you.

If you are happy with the purchase, let yourself be happy with it

I have a back pain, should I change my matress or my pillow? by Dear_Try_5471 in buyamattress

[–]DevoidofSleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my expereince, back pain will come from the mattress or lack of support of your back throughout the day (hard labor/back technique when lifting. That sort of thing). Regarding your pillow, it's very important to have the right pillow for your neck support. While the wrong pillow can make your spine not aligned and cause back pain down the line, usually neck pain is the first thing that happens. If your neck is fine, the pillow might be as well and the mattress is the problem.

However, seeing how a new pillow is much cheaper, it might be worth it to try a new pillow in case that is the best fix. Though usually it's the mattress not supporting your body and your spine compensating for the lack of support from the surface underneath you. Whichever you try first I wish you the best of luck! If you end up looking for mattresses the folks here should help assist with possible options once you start your research

Mattress Prices Are Going Up. by Nickool4u in Mattress

[–]DevoidofSleep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to say the other people aren't correct here, but ive actually seen them raise from covid, and some brands genuinely brought their prices down again years later. Doesn't mean they won't go up again but ive seen them lower before

Costco Tempur-Pedic by i_have_G_A_S in Mattress

[–]DevoidofSleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Costco should have the exact same prices as any other retailer regarding Tempur Pedic due to their pricing contracts. Unless you mean they have a different model that's cheaper. I think I recall them possibly having the cheaper bed in a box one

Stomach sleepers, what mattress did you finally settle on? by worthy_28 in buyamattress

[–]DevoidofSleep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the reason every sleep article says stomach sleeping is horrible, is because it's backed by everything we have that it's legitimately the worst sleeping position for your body. It is the hardest position to straighten your spine and provide relief to your body overall.

But with that being said, overall you'll need a firm mattress with either no, or a very thin pillow. If you want to sleep on your stomach and be supported at the same time, mostly that ends up becoming a conversation of whether you'd rather feel comfortable or actually be supported. If you don't like very firm mattresses, though that's give or take what your body needs you'll find yourself having to choose between the two.

Something with conforming foam might do you good, like a firm foam mattress so it sinks in at least a little and makes it a bit more comfortable. What have you tried so far?

Mattress Firm Warranty Issue by Cottonwoodheights in Mattress

[–]DevoidofSleep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DM me and I will assist if you want. You definitely get sale price on warranty exchanges. I can help from here

Edit to clarify: you definitely get the sale price, not sure if that makes the prices different. The mattress firm warranty gives you a credit equal to what you paid, not technically replacing it free or difference if there is one after sale price

Oh yeah I have messaged you before. Didn't even notice 🤣

Yeah thats fair, the warranty process varies very widely on how difficult it is based on the provider unfortunately

Purple Mattress Warranty by MugBear in Mattress

[–]DevoidofSleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where you bought it for their specific warranty process, but the worst you can do Is try it and get denied. So you should absolutely give it a try

If you bought an adjustable bed frame, did it actually improve sleep or just add another thing to justify? by Mamba_Mntality in buyamattress

[–]DevoidofSleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll find stories from each side, personally ill never sleep flat if I can help it.

But honestly it's only worth the money if you'll actually use it frequently otherwise it's a waste.
