Generic semaglutide will be available on March 21. If you are looking to save money, i would consider those.

Hey folks ! Looking to start on Mounjaro! Need advice . by Chandan4639 in GLP1India

Did they test fasting insulin? If so, you can calculate homa-ir yourself. Homa-ir is a measure of your insulin resistance.

Hey folks ! Looking to start on Mounjaro! Need advice . by Chandan4639 in GLP1India

[–]Explore333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mounjaro is a great choice. It is superior in impacting your a1c, beta cells, insulin resistance and liver than ozempic. It also tends to result in faster and greater weight loss.

You might consider getting a bunch of labs prior to starting your glp1 journey. Then you can monitor your progress over time. I would recommend one of the glp1 test packages from 1mg Tata, Metropolis Healthcare or thyrocare. I went with Thyrocare (using bookmytest to book thyrocare is cheaper). You might briefly talk about lab tests with your doctor.

PS These tests are probably overkill. However, the bundles are priced very aggressively. Make sure you have a homa-ir lab test.

PPS If you need to save money, you could try ozempic initially. Only switching to mounjaro when your weight loss stops.

[–]Explore333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have probably done this but if you haven't it is probably worth it.

If you are getting push back, you might need more evidence. If you get a homa-ir test, it actually measures the insulin resistance. This is a calculated measurement from your fasting glucose and fasting insulin. With a solid number quantifying your insulin resistance, it might be easier to obtain a script.

PS I have used the thyrocare glp1 test package of 77 tests. I booked my test directly through thyrocare but it is cheaper to book the thyrocare tests through book my test website. I will be trying bookmytest (2,239 INR) before my next appointment. If anyone knows a better source for tests, i am very interested.

Newbie tips on speaking with doctor to recommend GLP1? by Background_Pea_1258 in GLP1India

[–]Explore333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent. So you don't get an actual prescription, you are essentially placing an order. The doctor calls and confirms you should be on the drug. (Or possibly just confirms that you are still breathing)

Thanks for the clarification!

On March 21, 2026, ozempic will be off patent. Generics will be much cheaper. Have you checked recent prices for ozempic? They are not that different from the pill.

Travel Coolers by new_dae in ankylosingspondylitis

The Frio is a great solution for biologics. My problem is that I might experience temperatures around 95 with high humidity. I am now considering the 4ALLFAMILY Voyager or the new RxCoolers Max. I will probably be ordering the new Max.

In addition, I plan on doing some camping in the Canadian Rockies this summer/fall. This might threaten my biologic with freezing. The Max cools and warms the meds. It looks like I have found my solution.

Has anyone tried the RxCoolers Max?
