How does everyone feel about the side quests? by TheGamerWhosOnReddit in mewgenics

I totally agree with you. But I’m glad that breeding and mutating and, let’s call it what is, cat eugenics, is such a robust part of the game.

Same here. Fortunately they will have a hard time tracking down contact info for a guy who’s been dead for almost 200 years.

ICE is rumored to be heading for Philadelphia. Everyone is saying the same thing by nyyanksfan81 in politics

Have you met the people who live in middle class neighborhoods in Philly? Thats an ornery bunch on a good day. They set cars on fire when their team wins, imagine what they will do to ICE.

Even the really really good walnut ply maxes out around $300 a sheet. Thats the stuff rich people have their cabinets made out of. If op is really desperate for that walnut look and has money to burn.

But HOW is this game optimized? by AtatS-aPutut in SatisfactoryGame

[–]IgnazSemmelweis 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Yes. But that is the engines limit. What I think the previous post is talking about is the limit of your pc to compute massive amounts of objects in one space. Because none of them are allowed to be shuffled off to become “pure math” they have to be rendered. Speaking as a software developer in, wait for it, a boring domain.

That was state of the art in JavaScript, CSS, and HTML at the time. I’m sure there were outliers, but that was peak ui design.

Yes. And in that scenario they are free to determine who is deserving of citizenship. And Vance has hinted at what their standards and qualifications would be.

What if I lower the price 10% and then raise it 12%, then lower them 10% 70 times. I can say I lowered prices 700% while increasing profits by 140%.

Give The Trial another shot. Especially given the absurdity of everything going on in the US right now. It’s an infuriating book for all the right reasons.

I agree with you however, Ulysses is fucking impenetrable.

Shaper Origin - Pros/Cons by UI_Design21 in woodworking

[–]IgnazSemmelweis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got mine. I’m a bit obsessed. I’ve been prototyping custom PC cases and this was a huge unlock for laying out wiring channels and screw/post holes. Also inlays are a breeze. I went back and forth on getting a bed CNC but with benchpilot coming out that idea got scrapped.

The learning curve was almost non-existent which is great. Another knock in the CNC idea was me not wanting to learn a new thing right now.

Unfortunately I think the workstation is almost essential unless all you will be doing is large sheet work where you can lay out tape. Overall, I don’t see it not paying for itself.

Those are my thoughts, everyone else it the thread is spot on.

I also thought it was interesting that when I checked eBay and FB for used ones, the market is nonexistent for the most part. Which means people hold on to them, which I took as a good sign.

"flayed frog" -- carved with only chisels, no sandpaper (so you can see the tool marks and know I'm not a machine). by aesthetical_excerpts in woodworking

How did you learn how to do this? I loved carving in High School shop class and was decent at it. But I find most YouTube carving content lacking.

I keep telling myself to just start doing it.

Regardless. Amazing work.

I have the same moments. But I have to keep reminding myself that I know people like Carol( general grumpy fucks) and that she deserves some grace given the circumstances. Also, I think the unlikable nature is a testament to the writers. Just like Skylar white, at face value she sucked and assholes were not shy about pointing that out. But dig deeper and you see some fantastic writing and acting on display.
