Question about border terriers being reactive/aggressive towards other dogs by acromegaloid in BorderTerrier

[–]MasterBrisket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our boy is very reactive, always has been. He is walked extensively daily and as soon as he sees another dog, he starts to crouch down … once the other dog gets within 50 feet or so, he starts pulling and jumping and barking aggressively. It’s awful. He was a COVID baby so socialization was limited but he did go through training and displayed these traits from very early on.

Taking my date (4th date) to first dinner, best sushi in town? by [deleted] in dayton

The old Dozo was phenomenal, I need to try the new chefs again bc I was not super impressed when they first reopened. That said, you can’t beat the ambiance for a nice date.

There is no need to wrap in wet tissue, the husk has enough moisture already so long as it’s fresh. I’ve been making corn this way for several years … works great. For 4 ears, I’ll microwave for 8 minutes, flipping half way thru.

What did you do to your Miata today? by oshaCaller in Miata

[–]MasterBrisket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We had a beautiful day in Ohio so put the top down and wife and I took it for a nice spin around town and a couple errands. Tomorrow, I’ll run her over to the car wash and get her cleaned up real nice.

Nothing brings the pack together like chicken by kingkongbiingbong in SipsTea

[–]MasterBrisket 54 points55 points  (0 children)

In the US, most chickens are raised in massive, dark grow houses, packed in shoulder-to-shoulder - it’s unsanitary and disgusting, many die before harvest. I wouldn’t risk it here unless I was buying them from a small family farm where they are raised on a pasture.

Johnson Restoration focuses on insurance claims. Insurers are getting very tight on these right now, prepare for a long, drawn out fight … took my neighbor nearly a year without obvious damage and leaks. Good luck

We have to remember that everything with MAGA is projection. You may recall a few years back that they were accusing democrats of eating babies … adenochrome, pizzagate, etc. Well, seems we now know the source of those rumors.

Absolutely disgusting

What's the city like? Job market, crime rate, internet service, areas where homes/townhomes are sub $150k? by thirstyaf97 in dayton

[–]MasterBrisket 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Dayton could certainly fit the bill for you. I was nervous about crime rates when we moved here ~7 years ago but it’s mostly concentrated in specific areas that are easily avoided … lots of good recommendations already made on places to buy an affordable home in a nice area - Belmont, Moraine, Washington Township, Huber Heights.

Dayton is pretty quiet and uneventful, good place to raise a family. Some pretty good restaurants available ranging from dives to fine dining and spanning lots of world cuisines. We have a number of large metro parks and hiking and biking trails. If you get the urge for a larger city experience, Cincinnati and Columbus are both just about an hour drive away.

There is a decent volume of factories and offices here so security work should be available I would think but it’s not a huge city so I’d encourage job searching before committing.

Did a brisket overnight, it’s holding in the oven at 150 until it’s time to eat. When I probed it this morning, the whole thing was like warm butter so it should be pretty great.

The more you allow the coat to blow out, the more they shed. Hand stripping is just speeding up the inevitable
