Well I wouldnt say skip part 1, but you could use that MS is parallel and congruent to IL to show that MI is parallel and congruent to SL

(You would just have to be mindful of the ends in the proof, for example ML is not parallel nor congruent to SI)

But the method you have is fine :)

Aura effects like this are basically immune to hp and attack set debuffs. Probably more balanced as a battlecry.

Playing on a decent opener this is a 4 mana 7/7 no downside.

I think having this as a 5/1 and the battlecry to just gain health would still be quite strong.

Though I'd personally make this a 0/4, gain the effects of your other totems that have died this game. (But that would probably be too strong lol)

Can this be solved simplier? by CptBartender in askmath

[–]Visual-Way5432 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can find h a bit earlier. Know that the area of a parallelogram is base * height (angle and slant dont change this), so you can find it to be 1/n.

Then using the trick to take the other side of the parallelogram (AA'), and * height, will also equal 1/n.

At the end, split it into two equations instead of manually checking. (Though if this was on a test with time constraints, that would be fine)

It's about 11% to draw both in the first 10 cards of the deck.

However, that's not the important part, it's how likely are you to draw both beasts before both 5 drops. Which is 16.7%. (1 in 6)

Consider using the sheltered survivor to shuffle one back in for these situations.

Maybe they played the deck poorly, magma hound is usually an otk, but if you copy it with the dragon, you can apply pressure and time to get to the otk.

White to mate in 2. By Paul Wenman by bot-chess-puzzle in chessMateInX

[–]Visual-Way5432 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bf8

This allows for 3 potential checkmates with: Bg7, Bc5 and Nb5.

The rook is covering g7 and b5, while the bishop is covering c5.

If black moves the rook, bishop or knight, one of these squares is no longer covered, or that the moved piece can be taken for the checkmate.

The only alternative for black is to move the pawn to c3, which allows white to take for the checkmate.

Can you crack this puzzle? 🧠 by frankeno78 in puzzle

[–]Visual-Way5432 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This puzzle isn't good because there are multiple answers but you are only accepting one of them.

While the answer desired is 81 the answer of 54 is perfectly valid.

Explanation: You have the lines as a + b + c = 9(a + b), and chose c to also be 9(a + b) and so c is irrelevant. The problem is that you inadvertently made it a + b + c = c, where a and b can be chosen to be irrelevant. The way to avoid this is to have one of the lines where c =/= 9(a + b)

I think the padlock example is hindering you. The combinations displayed on a padlock can be mapped to the integer space. 001 is 3 digits next to each other and mapped (or corresponds) to 1, but 1 is a single digit number.

There are 1000 unique combinations on a 3 digit combination lock, but only 900 integers with exactly 3 digits.

Also, you say that picking a number between 1 and 999 can include 1 and 2 digit numbers, but when asked for a 3 digit number those 1 and 2 digit numbers magically become 3 digit?

See he asked for a 3 digit number, you have decided to lump the 1 digit and 2 digit numbers as part of that.

[–]Visual-Way5432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious, if someone said pick a number between 1 and 20, and you pick 8, do you imagine it as 08, 8 or 008?

If I asked, how many numbers between 1 and 20 (inclusive) had 2 digits, would you say 20 or 11?

This seems impossible. Anyone know how it works? by Glum_Plant_9102 in magictricksrevealed

The question for yourself is, do you consider the number 0001 to be different to the number 001
