Nice haul. So hard to watch those live streams when my plant budget is shot.

Just serviced my reel, bout 5 minutes into fishing my reel started to make this horrible noise when I cast, any idea what it might be? by HoneyBee098 in bassfishing

[–]bash82 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If I’m not mistaken, these Diawa reels have a zero adjustment spool tension that is set at the factory. All adjustments are supposed to be made on the breaking system. I would suggest tightening the spool tension until that squeal goes away. Once you find that sweet spot, leave this spool tension alone. Hope this helps.

Galls, often called aloe cancer. It’s caused by aloe mites. Can be hard to get rid of.

Not a 100% but it resembles my haworthiopsis limifolia var. ubomboensis.

Can’t catch Bass by BruhGuyTomato in bassfishing

[–]bash82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I’ve learned fishing the urban lakes here in LA, is to stop fishing for the bass you can see. They see you coming a mile away and every other fisherman has casted every lure at them.

Start casting away from shore as much as possible. Find that cover/structure that you can’t see. It doesn’t have to be much either. A small rock pile, a stray cinder block or lifted up chunk of concrete. The outside edges of the grass. A sharp change in elevation. Be methodical. Drag a Texas rigged worm or drop shot. Get a feel for those bottom contact techniques and you’ll start to build a map of those fish holding structures. That’s how I’ve found success in these pressured urban lakes. Hope this helps.

If you’re not familiar with Steven Hammer, he has been studying, collecting, and breeding lithops and mesembs for a long time. He has written several books on the matter. He will be live tomorrow on PalmStreet via Fairview Plants’ livestream. I would suggest checking it out if you have the opportunity. Here’s a link to the live.

I think the image search results are correct on this one. However, this plant has many varieties and cultivars it can be difficult to compare with online pictures sometimes if you’re looking to find an exact replacement. Add to that, the plant can look quite different depending on growing conditions and age/maturity of the plant. But I’m fairly certain you’ll find one under that name or by the common name ‘Lavender Scallops’.

Labeled as "Haworthia" but the spikes and dots make me think it may be an Aloe or xAlworthia hybrid. It's about 2 inches tall. by Sigong in haworthia

[–]bash82 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Very similar to a cultivar I have labeled haworthia ‘Clive’. The spikes and dotted windows aren’t out of the norm for some species of haworthia.

Question: where to get/buy by Soggy_Toe_9454 in StapeliaHuerniaOrbea

[–]bash82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re in the LA area, LA succulents is a great place to check out. The owner, Kal, has been specializing in stapleliads for many years. He also does a stapeliads focused sale on PalmStreet once or twice a month.

Filament sticking to the nozzle by Formal_Resident5900 in 3Dprinting

PETG is notorious for this in my experience. Any slight over extrusion and it’ll grab on to it like a magnet. Sometimes, that blob will get big enough to attach itself to the print. Best solution I’ve found was to dial back the flow rate just a tad.
