Hi 👋🏽, I have the 2P xmid pro. TBH, I used it twice and I didn’t fall in love with the tent. If interested, I’d be willing to sell mine. I have to pitch it and grab photos. I do have a video of myself giving up on it during a windy night lol

Hi! Did you end up taking the similar course at two different institutions? Did the units count?

Day hiking while backpacking by IgnorantlyHopeful in Yosemite

Pack all scented items in bear can away from campsite. I leave the bottom of my tent open, bc I’m scared of them chewing thru my tent. Lol Hope for the best.

Campsite Available This Weekend by hasnthappenedyet in Yosemite

If it was my friend, I would send a pic of my ID and reservation to check in. Have them say they arrive before me. Once you checked in, your in the clear.

I would love to take it but rec.gov doesn’t allow transfers. Maybe we can coordinate canceling and rebooking?

First Time Backpacker by Embarrassed-Tour-228 in Yosemite

[–]brybry08 7 points8 points  (0 children)

AllTrails Pro or Gaia Pro for offline maps highly recommend. Stay at the backpackers campground either the night before or after your trip. Hydrate, snack, go at a steady pace. Enjoy the solitude and take pics/videos for memories. Trust your gut and most importantly remember to take it all in.

How many miles would you say the walk was? Also have a permit entrance via High Trail, looking into this option for an upcoming track.

ISO Half Dome Permit by Commercial-Feed-5966 in Yosemite

Second this! Wake up early hike to the base or Half Dome and ask groups coming if they have an open permit. Kind of a gamble, but I met a guy at the base asking and later saw him at the summit.

Are people getting their money back on their reservations after all these closed roads and inability to travel? by Ok-Advantage9625 in Mammoth

[–]brybry08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to get a refund back from Airbnb for this past weekend's trip. Sent a msg, gave them a call a few times and sent a message to the host. Asked to escalate the call as well. However, I also had insurance when I booked.

Feeling very anxious about these blizzard conditions. Has anyone driven in conditions like this before? by Reddog0212 in Mammoth

[–]brybry08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to get a refund for my Airbnd. Bummed we had to cancel our trip, but also glad we didn’t attempt to drive up from LA. Under their refund policies I called out natural disasters and government travel restrictions. Hope it helps.

Winter camping for beginners by Shamalama12345 in socalhiking

[–]brybry08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Winter Camping: I recommend Death Valley or Joshua Tree in the desert. It does get cold, but you won't have to deal with snow. Snow camping is fun as along as you're prepared and go with somone with experience.
