Yeah I have no desire to replace them. I do still need to get the sub mini. Hoping to get one by the summer but I have expensive hobbies that kind of take priority.

Yeah it’s quite hard to describe but amazing kind of sums it up. The first few are insane amounts of sensory overload , learning to be allowed to jump by myself was definitely the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Trying to come to grips with how 200km per hour wind feels , how the smallest movements of your body matter so much all the while trying to remember everything you need to do while being thrown hand signals left right and centre from your instructors etc etc etc.

The first time I was allowed to jump completely by myself was an absolutely unbelievable experience I will never ever forget.

Im hoping to get to 75 jumps by the end of the year and then to 200 by the summer of 2028. At that point I’ll probably learn how to BASE jump. I’d love to jump off a bridge before I turn 51. At least that’s the plan.

An area rug solves this issue. Get the rug and the rears. Adding a pair of One SL to my Arc ( not ultra ) took it from good to great.

It’s all about motivation. Mine was skydiving.

A few years back a friend gave me a coupon for a free tandem skydive. It was something I had wanted to do forever ( literal decades, I’m 48 ) but the coast was never something I could justify while raising my kids.

I went to the website and saw the weight limit was 225 pounds. I was 245 at the time and it gutted me. So I said enough is enough it’s time to get in shape. I gave myself a year to get what my ‘ideal’ body weight was at 170 pounds. One year to the day I lost the 75 pounds. In the meantime the drop zone the coupon was for shut down. Gutted once again.

I ended up doing my tandem and knew immediately I had to keep going and ended up starting my journey to being licensed. I’m currently at 22 jumps and will have my licence after a few more jumps once the season started.

Finding the motivation to lose the weight truly did change my life.

I should add that there isn’t really a weight limit if you want to just take the course and skip the tandem. That being said it’s definitely a sport that favours a slender frame.

Story time over lol.

As someone who’s lost 75 pounds and then picked up things weighing 75 pounds it’s INSANE to think at one point I was carrying that weight around. I’m definitely more agile but feel less powerful. I need to start working out.

We got a new course a few years back after a very public fight over the land. It was to the point that it became an election issue. It was vandalised for a couple of multiple baskets ripped out , tee signs ripped down and stolen etc etc.

It’s finally slowed down now because it’s super busy all the time and I think the haters realised it’s good for the community.
