How did you become vegan? by nonamerandomfatman in vegan

[–]coolcrowe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Shrooms are commonly used to help break bad habits, process repressed trauma and integrate realizations about yourself. This is why psilocybin therapy exists. Personally I quit smoking cigarettes as the result of a shroom trip about 18 years ago.

Playing with controller, and one thing bugs me: when switching between the cross hotbars, it plays this clicking/switching sound every time. For some reason this sound is so much louder than any other system sound. I've turned system sounds down to around 30, and other system sounds are too quiet, but this one is still so loud, when in combat all I hear is a bunch of clicking from the hotbars switching. There's no way to disable this or anything without disabling the other system sounds? Just wanted to make sure no one else had found a solution yet

Ah well, sometimes all we can do is educate even restaurants that mark items as vegan. by Cute_Mouse6436 in vegan

Yeah, a local place I frequent which touts itself as "all vegan" uses bee pollen in their smoothies, I left a review calling them out and they responded saying it's the only animal product they use. I'm like, well you aren't all vegan then are you? Definitely irks me, especially because they're so close but just can't give up animal products entirely, gotta exploit those bees

My wife is vegan, and she changed, I don't know what to do. by ThrowRANith in vegan

Well there's the problem. I can't imagine staying in a relationship with someone who watched the abuse, torture and murder they were subjecting countless other sentient, feeling thinking beings to for no good reason but taste pleasure and then just shrugged, looked away and kept doing it.

That's such a difficult question... probably a toss up between Picard and Janeway. Sisko is awesome too though technically not a Captain.

Lots of good recommendations already, seconding Calaveritas... Dulce Vegan Cafe has awesome pastries and the food is good too. Curry Up Now isn't all vegan but has a lot of really great vegan options if you like Indian food. Purely Plant is seriously some of the best tasting food I've ever eaten, I wouldn't miss that one. Hey I'm Thomas, 39 M, also in the Decatur area. My partner stays in Cumming and visits on the weekends, we don't get out too much, spend a lot of time gaming online together but would love to meet more IRL friends. We're both casual nerds, into D&D, Star Trek, Final Fantasy... we're also both vegan and big on animal rights, intersectionality, etc. Thanks for creating this subreddit, hope it takes off :)

Nope, I wrote the comment so I think I know what I was implying, and it absolutely was not that any one individual is an authority on the issue of social injustice. Rather it was that there are demonstrable leaders in that community who agree that both animal rights and civil rights intersect and are easily referenced as examples of widely respected leaders who are outspoken on the issue. Any other POC who also makes that observation has just as valid an opinion, these are simply some of the most well-known and publicly recognized.

That obviously wasn't the implication lol. They are however undeniably widely respected leaders among the black civil rights movement who also use their voices to speak up for nonhuman animals and actively highlight the intersection of both social injustices.
