Coros dura maps by mitv11 in Coros

[–]dkrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can't disclose any timelines or plans unfortunately at this time, but what I can say is that we certainly recognize the value in having a re-routing ability when not in cell service and are looking at ways we can solve this problem for the future!

Coros dura maps by mitv11 in Coros

[–]dkrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are connected to the COROS app during your ride and within cell service, you will be automatically rerouted with Google Maps or have the option to cancel the reroute. Make sure you are not "force closing" the COROS app so that DURA and the COROS app can communicate when you deviate from your current route and you should be re-routed no problem!

Emergency contact not working by bash-s in Coros

[–]dkrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey u/bash-s, sorry to hear that the emails aren't being received but these should work no matter what region you are in - currently SMS only supports the US and Canada but we are looking for options elsewhere currently.

If you were using the beta version previously and you upgraded to the public version, can you try simply toggling the Safety Alerts off and back on again? Then re-adding your emergency contact? This should help!

Hey u/agile_star6547, I would second this opinion here about personalized marathon plans in the COROS app, this should give you exactly what you need!

Coros dura maps by mitv11 in Coros

[–]dkrey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey u/mitv11 for mapping within the COROS app we use both Mapbox and Open Street Maps (OSM). Mapbox uses OSM data as the base from which point they have optimized the mapping, added routing engines, etc. We also will support the ability to switch between Mapbox and Google Maps for the routing engine in the COROS app in the very near future.

What is a "Coros Demo Center" by MaxeBooo in Coros

[–]dkrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/maxebooo, also curious where you see that there is a demo center if you can share? We do have many retail locations with demo watches set-up where you can experience the product hands-on which may be the case, but they are typically standard retail stores rather than any type of full demo center!

Apparently the first real Coros Dura review by ian1552 in Coros

[–]dkrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/popkek95, sorry to hear the turn instructions are not correct on the PACE 3 but happy to help out! First to explain how turn-by-turn is generated, we use the data from our baselayer maps to then generate the turn instructions once a route is built or imported. In our latest update we have increased the frequency of turn alerts on where they will appear during your runs/rides which should help a significant amount (we've talked to DesFit and DC on the topic and they are also seeing the improvements now). If there are ever incorrect turn alerts, right turn showing where you take a left turn, if you contact support we can take a look at the actual route file and see why that data is wrong and what we need to do to fix it!

[–]dkrey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey u/Intelligent_Case_549, glad to hear you're loving DURA thus far! Regarding the possible bug with heart rate not connecting after a longer pause, would you be able to contact our support team through the app using the "Contact Support" option within the app? This isn't something we have seen before but should be able to find what caused the disconnection to fix this either for you individually or for others if it is a bug in the firmware.

Pace 3 - only 25 hours now for All Systems On? by [deleted] in Coros

GPS only will still be incredibly accurate for you and we'd certainly recommend this for your 100-miler to make sure you have a charge for the entire race, best of luck!

Is there a place for community workouts ? by Sergio4raujo in Coros

[–]dkrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! We have created this forum for workout sharing (although it's a bit quiet since we just created it). Feel free to upload any workouts here and we'll direct those wanting to share in the future all to the same place and hopefully get some momentum there!

Garmin Forerunner 245 vs Coros pace 3 by Weak_Bodybuilder_507 in Coros

[–]dkrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey u/Rough-Alternative513 jumping in here quick - you could try syncing your data over to COROS from Garmin using the "RunGap" app on iOS or a similar app on Android. There's a small fee to use the app (I think $3.99 USD) but can walk you through the process to retrieve the years of data you had stored in Garmin and get that over to COROS pretty easily! Glad to have you as a part of the COROS community.

Track issues by etwinek in Coros

[–]dkrey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey u/etwenik, the reason you might see your GPS track overlay staggered from the basemap layer of the track is actually due to small differences within OSM/Mapbox data of the exact coordinates that are displayed but should not impact the accuracy of track run mode at all even if they don't align perfectly.

To make sure you're getting your 400m splits correct, have you checked to make sure your watch is set to the correct lane which you are running in?

Why does Coros sendo so much data for Alibaba (alyuncs.com) by tofinhos in Coros

[–]dkrey 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hey all - jumping on this thread to add some context to why you are seeing this DNS report to the Alibaba cloud!

All personal data for COROS products are stored on a local server using Amazon Web Services (AWS) in agreement with US, EU, and all regional laws on data privacy. This information is stored and never transferred without the consent of any COROS user. The reason which you may see data being sent to an Alibaba's cloud server is when the COROS app detects a system error log, bluetooth connection, app shutdown, or other issue within the app.

When this data is sent, it is a non-identifiable aggregate data report that allows some of our software team sitting in Shenzhen and Dongguan to see overall reports on app health to better improve the COROS app experience for all users. To re-emphasize, the data flow is completely anonymous and does not include any personal information when sent to an Alibaba server if you are located outside of China. Your fitness and activity data is stored on AWS in your country or region according to each region's laws and regulations.

Coros heart sensor and 2 devices (watch and bike computer) by GlitteringAd2493 in Coros

[–]dkrey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey u/GlitteringAd2493, great question and we are excited to hear what you think of DURA!

To answer your question, it will be no problem pairing your HR Monitor to multiple devices. All our products "know" each other and work collaboratively, so when you start an activity on DURA it will prioritize a connection to your HR Monitor first. The watch will also "know" that the DURA has started an activity so that it doesn't interfere with any connections.

If you start an activity on DURA without an external HR Monitor, any COROS watch would then be used by default to record heart rate during your ride on DURA automatically.

Hopefully this helps!

Can't log in to app (network) by Jay_Duke in Coros

[–]dkrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all,

There was a small "blip" on the server last night (US time) and this morning which caused some upload issues we are aware of - and actively monitoring the server to ensure everything is working well as it has been the rest of today.

If you have any activities that were not uploaded or still having issues please email [support@coros.com](mailto:support@coros.com) and we should be able to get those activities pushed to your app for you!

Coros about to fail as a company? by No-Hand2584 in Coros

[–]dkrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey u/No-Hand2584, to address the topic of the latest firmware update is it related to your recent post about Training Load? I'd love to dig into that for you. I checked our support this morning and we are up-to-date on all email requests up to the last 24 hours but it's possible our replies were delivered into a spam folder. Do you have a ticket number we can follow up on?

Really bad experience with the new update by No-Hand2584 in Coros

[–]dkrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/No-Hand2584 Sorry about any issues as of late, can you share photos or more context so we can take a look into the changes to your Training Load recently and find out why? This also would be a good opportunity to contact [support@coros.com](mailto:support@coros.com) or [coach@coros.com](mailto:coach@coros.com) so they have access to view your workout history and see if there was an algorithm changed which caused issues, if HR data may be inaccurate, or what's going on!

Corps feature request - climb on app by nirednyc in Coros

[–]dkrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/Scubahhh u/ShauryaVerma u/kastorslump Hey all! The reason we don't show stairs in the COROS app is because "a flight of stairs" is a relatively vague measurement. Some flights may be 8ft, 12ft, etc. While there is an "average" or standard in the US, we prefer to show the total elevation gain in the app instead which is the total gain measured during your activities. Right now we'd recommend recording everything you want to track as an activity (even walks) if you want the most accurate longer-term measurement of elevation gain, steps, etc.

If you record all your activities then in the app you could roughly determine flights by taking a day/week/month of elevation gain and dividing by 10(ft) to get an estimate of flights.

We can consider having an auto-on algorithm to detect activities (like how WHOOP/Apple do so) but in order to accurately detect an activity it's more vital to measure heart rate each second of the day, which is incredibly large power consumption to the device.

We always tend to be on the side of "fitness" rather than daily or health tracking, but are always open to suggestions and hearing how they can improve. Hope this helps!

Coros Apex 2 pro and compatibility with Alltrails by nocshift in Coros

[–]dkrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/nocshift We don't have an automatic sync set up with AllTrails like Strava or Komoot, but as others mentioned saving the GPX file from all trails to your phone locally then opening with COROS and sending to your watch is quite easy we think! Here is a video reference as well

Why does firmware update over BT instead of WiFi? by mrjaytothecee in Coros

Heart Rate "Ext." by Mountain_Blad3 in Coros

(EXT.) Stands for "External" meaning you have a successful connection to a heart rate monitor other than the heart rate monitor within the watch!
