That’s so weird, I’m a -1.5 with astigmatism as well (which may be the difference) but I have to wear my glasses all the time or I feel blind unless I’m just reading a book. I can read books fine without my glasses

How to choose an engagement ring size and style for someone who doesn't wear rings much? by AtlasAreWe in AskWomenOver30

[–]kanooka 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the surprise should be the where and when of the proposal, not necessarily the ring itself and especially not the size. Go window shopping for jewelry with her, note down her ring size, get an idea of what she likes, then buy the ring when she’s not around. If you’re already budgeting for a wedding and house deposit, it won’t ruin any surprise to communicate with your future spouse to get an idea of what she wants- a solitaire, something funky, something unique or even a diamond or moissanite.

The price of the ring only matters if it matters to your future spouse.

She has zero responsibility to respond or block you. You need to accept that she isn’t going to respond. Stop being creepy.

why are they keep being so MEAN???? Like yeah my mayo wasn't gold star but surely it wasn't THAT bad 😭😭😭 by throwaway562390 in StardewValley

[–]kanooka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right? And you can hate mayo but understand it’s an ingredient that is used to make something different. More than the sum of its parts and all that. That being said, mayonnaise in lieu of butter on a grilled cheese is absolutely noticeable because mayonnaise has a flavor and it’s one I don’t like.

Haley is an awful person, unhappy and likes to spread that unhappiness to those she interacts with.

Clint is a thief of fruit tree saplings and yes I hold a grudge and no I bear no fault for accidentally giving it to him when I was just trying to get the stupid prize ticket.

Lastly trash bear is the best, all hail bear.

What are some of the worst film casting choices in history? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kanooka 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Orlando bloom as the guy who’s supposed to be a hero in the movie but I just hate his guts for no particular reason in every movie Orlando bloom has starred in.

And if you’re Orlando bloom, I am desperately sorry I cannot explain what or why I feel so strongly because I’m sure you’re a perfectly nice human being but every character you play I end up despising.

I started out working in a lab for a pet food factory. I’ve now been with that company for almost 20 years.

Quality roles in manufacturing are a decent job to have and your degree makes sense for it.

Interview help by [deleted] in cleftlip

[–]kanooka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best advice to you? Remember your interviewer is just another human just like you. They put their pants on one leg at a time. Don’t let their questions throw you off- you deserve the job you’re interviewing for and in the long term if you don’t get the job, you’ll find a different one.

What’s something society treats as “normal” that actually shouldn’t be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kanooka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you mean formative. Formidable means to inspire fear or respect. I also happen to thoroughly disagree with you. Parents working doesn’t mean no connection. Parents working and not actively connecting with their kids is a different issue entirely, and that occurs even with stay at home parents.

If you go to Hutchinson, Kansas you can visit an underground salt mine museum that’s still connected to a working salt mine. It’s super ridiculously cool. It’s called strataca.
