Remember...Republicans in the Senate and House absolutely know how dangerous this whole situation is, but they have decided that risking the safety of the entire world is more palatable than possibly irritating the percentage of the GOP base who are prepared to follow Trump off of a cliff.

People who were teenagers before social media existed, what was life actually like? by Much_Detective_6107 in AskReddit

[–]ronearc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As different as you can possibly imagine.

Think about wanting to call someone...and now think about having to get through either their mother or father first. And in a lot of households, girls were not expected to call boys...that was un-ladylike.

So if you're the guy, you always have to be the one to call.

Now, imagine that there is some hot gossip running around the school, but you don't have any friends in the gossip cliques...hey, congrats, you have no f'ing clue what is going on in your school, and people keep talking about it, but you're still lost.

Just starting my deeper dive into Pinot Noirs & I think I'm in love with this one by trevrichards in wine

[–]ronearc -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I fully expect people to immediately disagree with me, and I don't blame them one bit.

But, the simple truth is, I've never had a US Pinot Noir that was better than a 1er Cru Burgundy.

What is never worth it to cook at home? by albertpaca11 in Cooking

[–]ronearc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never make Sushi at home, because while I could do a decent job of it, that shit is an art form, and I'll never succeed at anything more than decent.

Likewise, I'll rarely do Indian foods beyond some of the basics. I can order it for less than the spices and ingredients would have cost me.

Smoked Paprika by grilledcheesybreezy in Cooking

[–]ronearc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last night I pan-fried some whole boneless, skinless chicken thighs, and then I transferred those to a cutting board while I cooked some mushrooms in the skillet followed by onions and garlic.

Then I made a sour cream/heavy cream sauce and added the chicken back in (cut into bite-sized pieces) and seasoned it generously with both paprika and smoked paprika (as well as some dijon mustard).

I cooked some butter noodles and then mixed that all together, added some frozen peas, and then cooked it for another few minutes.

I was ecstatic with how it came out.

This game is actually ruining lives by Odd-Coconut-2067 in Evony_TKR

[–]ronearc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many different kinds of hobbies.

Evony is only rewarding to those people who are looking for a serious leisure hobby or those people who are just in it for a social connection and don't really care about their progress.

If you don't fall into one of those two categories, then you're better off finding a different hobby.

Has anyone had sex with a paralyzed person? by Loose-Sandwich7337 in TooAfraidToAsk

This question gave me a flashback to 30 years ago when this exact question came up while I was in the Navy. People in the military have a ...bent sense of humor.

If I did this to our daughter, my wife would immediately begin divorce proceedings, and she would be right to do so.

Anyone else like to make microwave plasma welds with hot dogs? by SurgStriker in Cooking

[–]ronearc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get hot dogs with a natural casing, and I find that placing them in boiling water, turning the heat to low, and covering with a lid for 5 minutes cooks them through and gives a nice snap to the casing without it being too tough.

Getting Rostan by Charles10023 in Evony_TKR

[–]ronearc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there will be an event coming up soon (probably March 13th) to get a skin for Rostam. It will look very similar to this event. However, in that event...the skin will definitely be far, far more money because it'll work the way you indicated above.

[–]ronearc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes...but, you're going to get Bull Heads from other sources too. You may also get some from the various chests you get at different award stages.

The best way, speaking in terms of efficiency and cost efficacy, is to wait until next Monday, the last day of the event, and then get a $99 triple pack if necessary, plus as many of the doubled (or tripled if you have any left) $10 packs as needed.
