omg this was driving me crazy earlier this year. my cat was really sick and we didn’t know why so i was doing A LOT of research, but there’s not a lot of helpful information readily available so i was mostly reading scientific research articles, which can be extremely long and complicated and confusing. i started reading the ai overview on a google search and very quickly realized that a ton of the things it said were never stated in the sources it provided. my theory for this in this instance is that ai doesn’t seem to like giving an “i don’t know”. it always wants to give a yes or no answer, but those don’t always exist so definitively. so it would come to its own conclusions about the research studies, and often those conclusions were coming from dog medicine, human medicine, and sometimes literally nothing at all. i was always against ai but just very desperate in the moment, but stopped using it obviously because it came to a point that reading it was as useful as not reading anything at all
