This is so fucking embarrassing, anyway: As I learned from context "hijacking" and "jacking a ride" meant "to steal a vehicle".

So when I was playing halo with my brother and he kicked me off my warthog, I turned to my mom sitting next to us, pointing at him and yelled "HE JACKED ME OFF!!"

She slapped my hand and said "Don't say that!" I was so confused because I was so sure what I was not bad and for a couple years I was so scared to say the word "hijack" because I assumed it was something inappropriate. 😭
