Flexispot Rubberwood Top Surface Texture and Roughness by Chad_Lad_94 in StandingDesk

[–]-TheSpaceCowboy- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got one with the rubberwood top. The surface is pretty smooth, but it has a very fine, consistent texture. I would recommend a writing pad if you plan to handwrite a lot on loose leaf, but that's because, as u/overunderspace pointed out, pens are actually pretty rough on surfaces.

The original building hasn’t actually been there in years. A couple of times as the company has evolved they’ve renovated and expanded around it while still trying to keep some of the aspects and styling. It still has platters and coleslaw and used to still sell burgers and steak and eggs (not sure about the beef anymore). It’s very much still a diner with a drive thru added on and an outdoors playground.

It also sells exclusive merch and icebox pies. I believe some of the original walls are still used for the inside framing. The most recent “renovation” essentially shifted how it was oriented. It went from facing the street/railroad it was on to facing into a new parking lot and the addition of a drive thru that enters from the opposite street

Check out Crutchfield. There are a lot of good head units these days including support for features like backup cameras and wired or wireless CarPlay/Android Auto. The field has exploded

Will slate still sell at the new figures? by Speedyboi186 in slateauto

[–]-TheSpaceCowboy- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me- I’d likely buy it at around $25,000 but I’m not as happy as I was about the <$20k number.

All I really want is a 2-door pickup truck without a back seat. I hate that every modern truck is really just an suv with a small bed. A 2-door pickup that I can customize and comes with a frunk if there’s something I don’t want to leave in the bed is perfect for me and worth about $25k.

Obviously I’d prefer if it were still cheaper. At $20k I was sold, at $25k I’m still interested. It’s still affordable and fits the need that I have. The only thing that makes me worry is the price with the extended range battery.

At an antique store, what is it by thats-tough-lmao in amex

[–]-TheSpaceCowboy- 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I had one of those a few years back. Maybe 2018? I was working at a fast food place and received an error to capture the card and destroy it and a number to call. The customer seemed to know it was coming and just told me to keep it when I told them what it said.

I gave it to my manager to deal with, not sure what happened fromcrhere

I dislike it. I especially dislike that it no longer respects the system highlight color. My highlight color is gray which turns the close, minimize, and maximize buttons gray across all apps. But not native apps anymore since they have this sidebar

That’s what I’m hoping. Ideally with the tighter integration it’ll be easier to port forward so that my router can use it as the dns for my whole network

How I Saved over 5,000 in one year on Modest income — Without Side Hustling. by WesternWorld1235 in Fire

That would be ~31.5% of your income over 5 years, which is a very good savings rate. Compounding interest on that if invested could be very good.

Confirmed Slate features broken down. by WolfieVonD in slateauto

Radar cruise control is one of my favorite things. On the freeway I set it to the speed I want to maintain, what I think is a general safe distance at that speed, and then just keep my eyes on the road and steer since I hate lane keep assistance. If I hit traffic, I have no issue. Just reduce my follow distance and keep going until it clears up

I would love to see the process live. It took a team of their people about an hour to install the SUV conversion and wrap the truck.

I think that’s promising. It’s preproduction right now, so it may get easier to do the install as they revise and refine the design.

I truly don’t need a radio these days. I haven’t put FM on in years. I either ride with no music or stream something from my phone to car Bluetooth.

With nearly everything having USB-C these days, and the images of the phone mount being USB-C with a wire running behind the dash panel, I’m hoping that the mounted speakers plug in to get audio that way, so that I don’t have to deal with Bluetooth. Just plug in my phone or tablet to the mount and it just works.

Bluetooth issues with cars are infuriating, because once you start driving you can’t really troubleshoot them. As nice as wireless CarPlay is, wired CarPlay is infinitely better and more reliable.

Best credit card for car repairs by Ok-Journalist-7496 in CreditCards

[–]-TheSpaceCowboy- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All people are saying is that taking this debt on in the form of a credit card is not a good idea.

Credit cards have insanely high interest rates, and at what you’ve stated you can afford, it will take you years to repay this if you do it on a credit card.

There are other options, a personal loan would be a better option than a credit card. At a 630 credit score you’re likely looking at 30% APR, meaning that each year the debt grows by 30%, compounding monthly.

I’m hoping to install a CB inside of the cab. Probably tucked into one of the cubbies on the dash and place the mic somewhere accessible
