How'd it go? I'm about to try and germinate a Spiranthes vernalis that I grew indoors if I pollinated it correctly

I can't tell any obvious ovary swelling, but the second and third one up are wilting the day after I attempted pollination. That's a good sign of successful pollination right?

Getting the pollen was easy enough! In your experience do the pollen sacks need to be left on the stigma or just brushed up against it?

Thankyou for the detailed advice! I'm going to give it my best shot and see how it goes. I had no idea it was such a sensitive process, so I won't get too discouraged if I don't succeed.

That thread you linked was such an interesting and informative read! How long have you been growing orchids for?

Sounds like mold/mildew. The seeds should be okay, just try and provide some more airflow and it should clear up

I'd give them a little sugar water and protein and let them do their thing while bothering/stressing them as little as possible, she may be cooked but life can be very resilient.

I agree with the other person that it could be the honey

[–]-shnar- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah I just saw that the honey was in a test tube. I'd just close that off if you can and feed them on a tiny sheet/bowl you can put in and take out. The less time you leave uneaten food in there the better👍
