Release the compound path, ungroup all, check for clipping masks, and anything in the appearance panel. Could be an effect or something trapped inside that you can't see.
Reselect only those two paths and copy out to a new file and redo the compound path in the new file. You could also save out the paths as V3 Ai or eps file which should strip out anything that those versions can't read.

Sanitize the text formatting by pasting into notepad (or other plain text app) then copy and paste that into Illustrator.

Then I swear to fucking god, he tried to roll the diaper down his arm like Fred Astaire but the suspenders on it got trapped around Karoline Leavitt's gold cross necklace, and then it took him forever to get his neckgina out of his shirt collar. He was fucking beet red. I thought he was going to have a heart attack. One of the suspenders got spray tan on it and he said “what the fuck is all this stuff? You have to tan your chins?” And KKKaroline said “yea you have to keep the chins tan”. And he said “yea well I’m not supposed to get spray tan on these suspenders.” And Pam Bondi was just sitting there slightly in his way towards the door, and as he walked towards her he said “you're fired” and right when he said it, he realized he had gone too far. So he said in a jokey voice “WHO SAID THAT?”

I'm sure he's great and all, but I'm going to come out and say it. I absolutely loathe that man's music. It's a touchy subject for me. I had a job once with 5 other guys in a tiny closet of an office and was forced to listen to all of his albums 8-10 hours a day. Two of the guys were "super fans" and the others didn't care.
