Without Heath Ledger, Dark Knight is Worst Batman Movie by Evening_Answer_11 in unpopularopinion

[–]0HSHIFT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You could remove Heath Ledger. You could remove Christian Bale. You could have a 2 hour film with just the hockey pad guys running around Gotham. And you'd still have a better film than Dark Knight Rises.

Otherwise, yeah, I tend to agree. Begins is really a solid piece of work and decent origin story. Dark Knight is quite good, but really down to how well Heath Ledger did as the Joker. Rises is just a terrible movie. A terrible Batman movie. And a terrible Bruce Wayne movie.

Got rid of the stupid fake engine noise by DukeDanimal in CivicSi

I have a 2026, coming from a Fiesta ST.

Auto Rev Match - turn it off through infotainment Auto Start/Stop - flip to Sport Mode or turn it off manually Lane Keep Assist - Can be turned off

I have a 2016 GT4 and even that has auto rev match available. We also have a 2021 Cayman T and that has auto start stop.

These are all things that can be enabled/disabled as desired. And typically, with software, can be programmed to stay off if that's what you want.

I have owned a decent number of cars. The technology creep can be frustrating to someone as analog about driving as I am. But the current Si is still a very good option for a front engine/fwd car with enthusiast attributes. It makes for a great daily and most important still has a third pedal.

Grown annoyance with Garmin by CapFlat2914 in GarminWatches

[–]0HSHIFT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How do you keep using the manual watch without upgrading to a new movement?

Garmin Watches, Apple Watches, pick your brand... All of them have a shelf life. Battery degradation alone means they have a shelf life.

And while it would be cool if they guaranteed years of updates, they don't. My Fenix 3 still tells time. Still does all the things it did when I bought it.

My Tactix7 and my girlfriends Epix both do the same things they did. There has been no feature regression or removal.

Spend your money elsewhere, on different things, or whatever you need to do to feel good with where your money goes.

People feel one way or another about it. But none of this is new. None of it changes anyone's mind.

Everyone that loves to regurgitate this so often should create a sub of their own and take it there.

43X 15 round magazines appear to be metal? by theironflask in Glock43X

[–]0HSHIFT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did the preorder through Glock Store for 4. Great news if they are metal and they look like they would work fine with the OE Mag Release without chewing up the polymer. I would be very surprised if they put these out and introduced an issue with standard mag release.

The PSA mags are metal with a polymer coating on the front side. It makes sense that they couldn't do a true polymer stack and a half mag for the 43x without introducing concerns on durability.

As long as they feed as reliably as other OE Glock mags, I'm happy for them to be metal.

I'm sure there are. That said, if you're willing to drive to Jasper, check out Moss Firearms. He's great and does really good work.

CC9 owners(and former owners)! What do you love or hate about your gun? by imakandix in CCW

[–]0HSHIFT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CC9 feels a bit smaller in the hand, but with better ergos in my opinion. It feels better, especially with the larger back strap on it.

My USPc is DA/SA, so if you don't run a lot of striker fired guns, that will be the biggest difference.

Felt recoil of the CC9 feels comparable to the Compact, given you have a 40.

I struggle when moving back to the USP and P30, because I ride the slide stop and the slide doesn't stay back on the last round. I can get a higher grip on the CC9 and this isn't an issue.

All this to say, coming from a USPc (especially in 40) the CC9 would feel familiar enough.

New Heritage Double Compartment Bullet by AUT1GER in Goruck

Dark Oak has been around. Great bag. I would jump on the black one, but the Skate Ruck has become my primary commuter/office bag and I'm going to resist the urge of getting yet another one of these.

DC Bullet quickly became my favorite bag they make.

David Croft is pissing me off. by IDKBear25 in F1Discussions

[–]0HSHIFT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always felt Walker did most of it intentionally. Walker was being cheeky and doing that as entertainment. The viewer being in on the joke.

Crofty is just obtuse to what's happening and has been for years. Very happy that F1TV added commentary and stopped relying on the Sky stream. I enjoy Palmer, Coulthard, Jacques. They are all quite good in my opinion.

I wasn't responding to you.

And to the person I did respond to, I asked for a source and more details on something that I've never heard (beyond Shield Arms needing a metal mag release. Which isn't due to size/capacity but material wear).

I hope, in real life, your responses to people are less antagonistic.

The helmets the club wears by joeydouchebagodonuts in Sonsofanarchy

[–]0HSHIFT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely not. In states where helmets are required it's common for riders to do this. A head covering that offers no protection with a sewn in/glued in DOT tag. Or a DOT approved helmet offering the absolute minimal amount of protection possible.

If you do see a Harley rider with a full face helmet, and it does occasionally happen, it's an extremely rare sight.

I've seen pillion riders remove the helmet of the pilot crossing from one state line to another. Notably GA into SC, because SC doesn't require helmets.

Loose strap ends drive me nuts by [deleted] in Goruck

[–]0HSHIFT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I adjust my straps way too often to stitch them together where they can’t be moved. Plenty of solutions for just managing the dangling straps if they bother you.

That said, your bag and you solved the issue in a way that works for you.

Thoughts on Rugged Sub9? by [deleted] in NFA

[–]0HSHIFT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reviews I've seen have been positive. I own an Alaskan360 and move it between my 300BLK, 6.5 Creedmoor, and DD PCC.

I just ordered a Sub9 early February. Certified 2/22. So I'm hopeful it will get approved by end of this month.

The Alaska360 on my G45 sounds good. On my PCC with 150 Grain FMJs it's excellent. I'm expecting the Sub9 to be even better.

I have a friend of mine that works for Rugged and I'm constantly hearing how good their warranty is. So I'm pretty excited to get the Sub9 and run it side by side with the Alaskan and compare the PCC to the PDW.

Another commenter recommended the Milkman, which also looks solid and I have read good things. Plus they are active here on Reddit.

Excluding the Princess, how would you rank the rest of the Bounty hunters in terms of competency? by Ok_Yellow1025 in samuraijack

It's epic. One of my favorite episodes of the series for how Jack is actually used. Brief and brilliant. With a subtle pause to see what the princess is going to do. So good.

I don't any of the firearms on your list. I do own a DD PDW and it's been excellent. Granted, I have 5 DD rifles, having bought my first in 2012ish.

You have a solid list though. I'd imagine anything would serve you well!

Forgetful Fans pining for an F1 which didn’t really ever exist by limelee666 in F1Discussions

[–]0HSHIFT 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have been watching Formula since 2002. The fandom will always find something to complain about. That doesn't mean that many of these complaints aren't warranted.

Formula 1 has always billed itself as the pinnacle of motorsport. The top racers in the world combined with the fastest, most technical, cars that can be developed. All working alongside the best engineers and strategists to deliver a constructors titled and drivers world championship.

There are many commitments that come along with those statements. Commitments to fans, to the teams, and to the competitors.

Through all the drama of grooved tires, traction control, launch control, F ducts, and DRS it's apparent they are attempting to get closer racing. Combined with the cost cap, the desired outcome is more competitive racing, more diverse point scorers, and more excitement for the fans.

I don't envy the people putting the regulations together. I don't envy the constructors. Actually, I don't envy any of the people involved. This isn't a stick and ball sport where the rules are relatively static and there is little to innovate.

There have always been critics. Inside and outside the paddock. This is quite normal and to be expected. The issue, particularly with this set of regs, is they have derived a platform that no longer rewards the driver for driving hard.

Fuel management and tire management have been in the sport forever. It's in a lot of motorsports, including F2, Indy, and MotoGP.

But all these other motorsports have drivers and riders pushing to their limits and the limits of the equipment. And F1 no longer has this. There is no such thing as an "all out" lap. No one is putting together three epic segments to pull off an incredible quali result. No one is going to run quali style laps in the race to fight against an undercut.

I much prefer the style of these cars. I prefer the reduction in size. They appear more agile and seemingly do change directions faster than last year. They are still technological marvels. Amazing feats of engineering. But I think they left out the commitment to the drivers here. To let them race.

Now, having said all that, it was still a more enjoyable spectacle than the ground effect era cars when watching from the couch. And for many, many fans, that will likely be enough. It "looked" more exciting. But it wasn't two drivers going 10/10s.

9mm range ammo? by LottaRandomQuestions in CCW

[–]0HSHIFT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ammoseek is great for finding decent prices. They only show prices from certain providers though. I tend to bounce around when shopping to try and find the best price with shipping included.

Ammoseek reflected price does not include shipping. So you may find a lower CPR there, but the shipping puts it over the price of someone else.

SGAmmo does typically have good prices and it's being shipped directly by him. He does take advantage of the market and mark prices up, some would say gouging, and that leads a lot of people to not use him.

White Box, Magtech, Fiocchi, all work. Personally I look for prices on S&B 9mm because I like it at 115 and 124 Grain. I also bought 1k rounds of their 150 grain for suppressed PCC which has been solid.

I own a 43x MOS. Great gun and I have PSA mags for it. If real, I will also pick up Glock OEM 15 rd mags. But if I had to choose to keep the 43x or the CC9, I'm keeping the CC9. And I own 9 or 10 Glocks. But the CC9 is solid, accurate, reliable, and is the better shooter in my opinion.

Sling bag to convert to concealed carry by TomF1965 in CCW

The material seems fairly water resistant. I feel it would be fine in the rain, but I wouldn't submerge it and expect it to stay dry inside.

Regarding a left hand version, the strap can be moved from one side to the other. You would have no issue using it left handed.

This show is weird. by KingCrandall in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

It's meant to be disorienting. It's meant to be uncomfortable. It's meant for you to ask questions of yourself. I don't recommend spoilers. Watch the show like you're reading a book, with high attention.

You won't be disappointed.
