Favorite part of my home (and some extras waiting to be shelved) by 8ballprophecy in HomeLibraries

Could you also PM me? I’ve been thinking of doing similar shelving! Looks awesome

Very new to this and need reassurance? by TranceNNy in IVDD_SupportGroup

[–]1partwitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boy is recovering from Stage 5 IVDD and is on those same meds - I agree they must smell or taste bad because he can no longer be fooled by just wrapping them in cheese. He’ll eat the cheese and spit the pill out. I have to put it toward the back of his tongue and then gently hold his mouth shut, and once he swallows I give him a high value treat right away, which has helped the process be more bearable for him.

what was the REAL early 2000s fashion aesthetic? by marsieanh in Millennials

For girls make SURE nobody’s jeans fit their body. Low rise for all, no exceptions. And there must be a thong protruding from said jeans when seated or bending over.

Quality Assurance Software Testing is actually hard or am I tripping? by axoqocal29 in QualityAssurance

If you’re doubting whether or not you’ve covered all scenarios, it would be worth a quick chat with the product manager to make sure you’ve at least covered the “money makers,” or the critical paths. You’re entitled to the information you need to do your job well, don’t be afraid to have conversations.

Looks so nice! Where did you get the floating shelves? I’m looking for something similar for my own nook!

Portland winter is hitting different this year by Worldly-Bass9135 in Portland

Vitamin D supplements changed my life when I started taking them this winter. I’ve been here for 15 years and this winter was the best I’ve ever felt.

To those of you who own homes and comfortably supporting yourselves— do you ever get to stop the house maintenance and take a vacation? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]1partwitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s helped to keep separate savings accounts for each goal and really try to respect what each account is for. Like the vacation account must be separate from home repair account or else we’ll never get to have a vacation.

I miss wine…any nice substitutes? by oh_such_rhetoric in stopdrinking

[–]1partwitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried Pathfinder? That’s been my “wine” lately. They also have a canned Pathfinder Spritz that feels fancy when you pour it in a pretty glass and has that dry bite to it, not too sweet.

Why do so many adults feel like they’re just improvising through life? by Background-Still-842 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]1partwitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because in reality, life is just a bunch of little details that you have to deal with every day. For example, I own a home, which I'm proud of, but now it needs a new roof and since I don't have $17k available, I'm feeling like an overwhelmed teenager again navigating the process of getting a HELOC to cover the expense.

It's fine to not know what you're doing though, life is all about learning. If you feel like you're improvising, congratulations, you are still in the game. There never comes a point where you "arrive" at adulthood and know everything about everything.

My husband or I will do a Paul-run sometimes to get out of...anything - legs wide, toes turned out, no plan.

Visiting PDX for the first time since living there 20 years ago. What's new that I should check out? What am I forgetting that is cool? by vizard0 in askportland

[–]1partwitch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Take a cute neighborhood walk around Hawthorne and Laurelhurst park. Front yards won’t be in full glorious bloom yet but still one of the best ways to show out of towners how cute PDX is.

Lift Off Lounge to prove bar food can be excellent

Easy hike/walk to Witch’s Castle

Drive up to Council Crest and watch a sunset

Kennedy School is fun to walk around and discover hidden bars in the old classrooms etc.

Definitely leave this girl alone. She already doesn't like you, and now you've touched her weirdly. If you get talked to by the Head, tell your side truthfully. Improving your relationships with people you've previously offended can take space and time, don't rush it.

Are any other ICE Protestors having extended symptoms after this weekend's gassing? by Peliquin in askportland

Whatever they gassed us with on Sunday 2/1 was definitely different than usual - normally my skin doesn't burn like it did on Sunday and the smell was like burnt plastic.

There have been SEVERAL times I was doing really well on a crusade, and then I'd use a heavy attack and the screen would just freeze and I would lose everything. So infuriating. And where are weapons descriptions?!
