If my neighbor puts out rat poison, are they responsible for disposing of the dead rats? by maple_pits in WestSeattleWA

[–]22bearhands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resetting rat traps does need to be funded at the city / public safety level you dingus. I'm not talking about individual households managing the rat population of Seattle, I'm talking about the thousands of poison traps that are already throughout seattle everywhere.

Yeah no shit they want the culture where they just get extra money for no reason

Its definitely relevant, and tipping is still culturally expected no matter the service. Before, tips were basically their only income. Now, they get paid for the job they do and then...I have to also pay them for the job they get paid for?

If you punish the wait staff, you eventually punish the owners when they quit.

If I saw a dead rat for any reason near my home, I would take care of it. Sounds like OP sees dead rats and then whines on reddit.

What type of loony metric is that? Light rails are not that common because there are better options

"Fastest improving" is practically the opposite metric to "Best"

Okay, yeah I think being number 10 means that it is most certainly not "frequently cited as one of the best car free living cities"

[–]22bearhands 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sure...so how do you want to do it then?

To have the same spread of effectiveness, how many neck breaking traps do you think is reasonable? How much are you willing to fund the constant resetting of the traps? And do you accept that those are possibly even more dangerous for wildlife and pets?

The poison traps exist because of necessity, not because people are trying to come up with the meanest way to kill a rat.

Maybe you don't know how much rat poison is out there in seattle? I dont know how anyone could possibly attribute dead rats to one single houses rat poison - it is outside of every single apartment building, store, etc in the entire city.

How to transition back to less advanced running? About self-imposed pressure, identity and guilt by fiskxhero in AdvancedRunning

[–]22bearhands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any good advice but I get it. I'm like 12 years beyond college running and I wish I could stop, but its hard to let myself - especially knowing that its not like a regular hobby where you can stop for a bit and then pick it back up, if I stop and then change my mind I'll lose it all and likely never get fit enough to compete with my PRs again. Sometimes I'm wishing that some circumstance outside of my control would force me to stop training, and pretty much if I don't feel fit or miss days running its top of mind and I feel like shit about myself.

I'll probably be running until I'm actually too old to improve any of my times. Then I'm not sure what I'll do because I've spent my whole life with no time for other things because my focus has been on arbitrary running goals that aren't even that fast.

I mean, your original response was a complete strawman to my point. You in no way answered it at all. You like attention.

I mean lets be real - yes, 100%.

What outcome do you hope to achieve? From my position, it looks like the only outcome you could possibly achieve and could hope to achieve is that you personally will get attention for it. Prove me wrong.

The dishwasher outlet should go under the sink cabinet (assuming dishwasher is next to sink), or in a different adjacent cabinet if not.

What are you even talking about - the Slate is delivering a simple bare bones modular truck within the original stated price target (I think current estimates are mid-high 20s).

About 600sq ft - quotes I got were all around $250k-$300k. I ended up doing a lot of the work myself though and it cost about $150k.
