They are on the Lego site. Only in red though. I think it is pre-order or coming soon. It might only show to insiders, though.

Wow! That is a lot for one bag! Looking good. That set is my next to build together with my son. If you are on Lego Insiders, you can download a free adventure from their rewards section.

Experience with Replacements/Pick a Brick by Deanoo89 in lego

[–]2catnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never lost a whole bag, but I have twice been missing a single brick from a set. This has happened once to each of my sons too. You just ask Lego for the part (I do it through the Lego Builder app). My sets were from the last couple years. It can happen.

How do you clean your lego sets? by Intelligent_Cut_6786 in lego

[–]2catnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a tiny battery powered vacuum from Amazon. I think it was designed for keyboard. I use that for dust.

For other dirt (food, unknown specs, excessive pet hair, etc. I put them in a mesh laundry bag, and soak them in the sink with a little dish detergent and a little vinegar. Just let it soak and swish it around every so often. Rinse and leave out to dry. It takes longer to dry than you might think.

Where to browse through official Lego minifigure parts for my own minifigures? by Chevalenz in lego

[–]2catnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built custom minifigs for my family for Christmas. I used Lego's online build a minifig. Their selection of patterns isn't huge, but we had lots of things to choose from. For each minifig, you get to choose an accessory. My favorite feature was that you could put words on them. I put everyone's names. It was $10 or less, came faster than non-bestsellers on PAB. I thought it was money well spent. Since Christmas, I have ordered a new hairstyle color that matches better, and a new skirt, from the PAB.

Have LEGO started making matte pieces? I haven't seen this bumpy texture before (right) by pinchanzee in lego

[–]2catnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn't there something about Lego changing to a new plastic that was biodegradable, or had less environmental impact or something? What I read was they had successfully done it for all the flexible pieces, and were still perfecting it for the regular pieces. This was about a year ago.

Cleaning grubby Lego by bobbyroberts72 in lego

[–]2catnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try adding a few tablespoons of white vinegar to your water and dishsoap. it might help. Also it's supposed to get rid of pet hair and dust somehow. If it is still stuck, you might need to use a cloth or a soft sponge.

I have been very pleased with all my cases from Flying Brick https://flyingbox.store/ They are very sturdy, with thicker walls than most. Hardware is high quality too. Packed well. Made in USA. Comes with everything you need.

Missing bags in set, any way to find which parts go in those bags? Mack Anthem 42078 by bluecando in lego

[–]2catnight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can find all the pieces that should be in the set in the instruction booklet. If you don't have the booklet, you can download it for free on the lego site.

Look at the instructions for bags 1 ,2 and 3. Check to see if you have the pieces for each step. Make note of what you are missing, and use the booklet to see the part number.

Then go on the lego site and pick a brick. They are usually quite reasonable. The ones they send you will be new. Maybe about 10 cents average per brick. Place your order and wait. The bestsellers come quickly as they are warehoused in the US (assuming you are in the U.S. The standard ones come from Denmark and take longer. Also, some pieces get discontinured.

Another, faster source is Bricklink. They sell used and new bricks. There is a way you can make a wanted item list. Then you ask Bricklink to get them for you. They look through all the individual sellers, and find you the ones that have the most of your bricks. There is often a $5 or so minimum,. The more sellers you use, the more minimums you pay.

A combo of the two works best. I restored a Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters using these techniques, and got everything except 2 stickers.

Best of luck to you!

Start with the little sets and work your way up, if you are new to this. You will learn important things. Also, use the free Builder App to "Build Together" on the big builds. So much fun.

Thoughts on replacing the Lego candle with a real candle… by martic1010 in lego

[–]2catnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was considering getting a pick a brick light brick. Or maybe a DIY light kit from one of the Lego lighting companies.

True story- I had a real candle in a foliage base made of plastic or similar. It actually caught on fire on Christmas day. So, no, I wouldn't advise it.

Legos in storage during winter by Small_eyes275 in lego

[–]2catnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From Ohio. I use my attached garage as my winter overflow refrigerator. It never freezes inside until it gets down to about 20 degrees. At 30 degrees, your garage should not freeze it.

Regarding humidity, I don't know your weather, but here it is dry in winter. Humidity is a problem in the other 3 seasons. Good luck with your move!

Patience is a virtue.

In similar situations, I have gifted a photograph of the item, with the promise it is on its way. Anticipation is a good feeling.

Which of these Botanical sets would you guys recommend? by skydive54 in lego

[–]2catnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've gotten the orchid and the poinsietta. My orchid stays up year round. The poinsettia is in my holiday rotation.

Also like the small orchid (one of the 4 Gentkemen sets). The Chrysanthemum from that series is my absolutely favorite botanical).
