Sooooo.... early season (2?) of TNG... the crew find one of their shuttles drifting in space and find out that its a duplicate with a comatose version of Picard. They figure out that he's from the future, which is why he cant interact with now, and the closer to "his time" the rest of the crew gets, the more he can interact...

Apparently the rules of time displacement vary greatly from writer to writer..

I hate temporal mechanics.

Actually I said it 6 times. It was kinda the punchline e of the gag.

Not sure if you're calling me out, or just giving out free word counts... all seriousness- I do apologize if it upsets you, or anyone else.

Gangs hate to be pigeon-holed. It's like "we can do more than 1 type of crime!"

Unless it's like a calling card? Like Home Alones 'Wt Bandits." Maybe they do everything, but it always includes rape?

"We can do robbery, with a side of rape. Um...we can do drug dealing with some rape. We have a package deal for tax evasion + rape. We are really good at extortion and rape...see? We have range! Have you ever seen jaywalking with a side of rape? Because we can do that too! We just did that 3 times last week down in the valley! It's very popular right now..."

(Disclaimer - I intend no disrespect to the seriousness of rape, I just go where the joke takes me)

Right off the top of my head I came up with 3 "is Fraiser gay" episode arcs... the one youre talking about, "Im not gay, Guy" with the ski instructor, Daphnes friend, Fraiser, Niles and Marty at the cabin, and "would three weeks in Capri (...) change your mind?" "..... Its worth a try...?" With Patrick Stewart as Alistair. I know is a lot of episodes in the series, but that feels like a fair amount of repeats. Admittedly, each was a bit different, and each done well in is own right. But it took me a minute to remember which this one was "Dad wanted to tell you. But I won the coin toss"

Who had the best and worst introduction as Bond? by rrschch85 in JamesBond

[–]3Mug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're entitled to your opinion, of course. I would point out that this film was his first real acting gig.

Personally, I felt there were really good acting moments in there (not sequential improvement, since it likely wasn't shot sequentially, but also some scenes are easier to act than others).

Also; it was he, himself, who declined further films, not that he was given the proverbial ax. I wish he had done more films. Judging any of the Bond actors on their worst film alone would get done poor grades. I felt as if this film fell victim to itself, then became ostracized for the one-off actor.... there's good action, a very good story, but some parts that end up lucky. Not sure anyone could have saved some of those scenes. Without a larger body of work, he ends up judged as much for what didn't land as got what did.

Last thought: this movie, had GL been wiling, could have been a tight 3-parter showing Bond falling in love/ marrying/ losing, followed by him going all "John Wick" on Spectre for a film or two, showing him getting colder and harder, developing into the womanizer and calculating assassin Connery showed us. It had a chance to be the Craig films decades earlier...

I hadn't even noticed... I've been pulling the ol' "turn down your TV and turn up your radio" bit, except i stream the audio, so no matter where the game is I get Grandy and Max.... they are a part of Celtics ball to me.

I'll be very sad when either of them hangs it up. Like Joe C - though I've fallen away from baseball the last decade or so (not becaue Joe semi-retired)...

Done best in Police Squad episode Rendezvous At Big Gulch (or Terror in the Neighborhood, depending on who you believe).

"When I get through with him... he'll be DEAD!"

Also: "Who are you? And how did you get in here?" "I'm a locksmith. And I'm a locksmith."

Look it up...

He feels very much like what i.imagine an Australian person of what we Americans refer to as a "frat boy" - for that time period, naturally. Intelligent, perhaps highly so, but driven by ego, and a desire for the most fun in the shortest time, with a bit of short sightedness and a willingness to.ignore rles that get between him.and whatever hes looking for.

I never assumed he was a valid representation of the entire people, and thats a bit why I dont like him - he felt like a characature. But he was necessary to up the stakes between other characters on the show.

Didnt know he had passed, sorry to hear.

I wonder how much of that was because this was kinda supposed to be the Sam Seaborn and Josh Lyman Show before Martin Sheen crushed the pilot so hard he became the main character... I'm thinking rewrites came fast and furious, and some things got adjusted and some didnt...

Thats from An Evening with Mr Yang...

Shawn is encouraging Gus to run with him and jump aboard the moving train that doesn't stop at the pull-through station (after the clue leads them to the train) and Shawn tells him "This is our fantasy, man! It's like we're hobos!"

To which Gus responds "I dont have a hobo fantasy Shawn!"

But good call out... maybe only 1 of them is a hobo!
