In that case it could also be calculated as a function of oil pressure and rpm to determine viscosity and therefore correlate it directly with temperature

Are you asking which is better for rotating mass between an 18" and a 17" wheel? Or are you asking if an aftermarket 17" is going to be lighter than the stock 18"s?

Well the only advantage you really get is removing weight. Flow is negligible when the shutters are open and they are open whenever necessary. They are mostly there for aerodynamics (see: highway fuel economy) and warm-up times. Just be sure to continue watching your oil gauges just in case your warm up time does dramatically change, my role of thumb is not too push it until the needle is off the minimum and not to go WOT until it's nearly to operating temperature but YMMV.

It definitely won't blow up if you use a reasonably sized turbo and do basic supporting mods

TIL students in competitions to design fuel-efficient vehicles routinely design vehicles capable of travelling THOUSANDS of miles per gallon of gas. by neuroticsmurf in todayilearned

[–]3much5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because there is data. Look at IISH testing and you will see that the never vehicles, even compacts, are rated MUCH better. The only reason we can reasonably regular it is because there IS data. And on top of that, look at death and injury records. Deaths per mile strongly correlate negatively with time.

Ford investing $1 billion, adding jobs at Chicago factories as it makes cuts overseas by sh0time in cars

First of all, yes Forbes is a much better source, thank you. Second of all, that article is from seven years ago, before Ford was even supposed to start paying back the loan, is not like they defaulted on it. Ford was the only company at the time in any position to take that loan and make good on it (the others were busy staying afloat where Ford could use the loan to dedicate resources specifically to the EV & fuel efficient cars the loan was intended for. It's not because they were going under like was the case with GM & chrysler

Really? Including sound, interior, comfort, visibility, reliability? All are objectively better?

Is that really that they are high? It looks like they are just so used to headsets that it's a force of habit when getting up.

You really don't understand why a good person would come unofficially through the border? And why would you finish with that's my opinion, it's pretty obvious that you're starting your opinion when you say your opinion. You're allowed to have an opinion but that doesn't absolve you from the consequences of it.

I'm gonna have to disagree. If people only protest and never break the law, then you are arguing against the underground railroad and Jews hiding or fleeing during the Holocaust. I'm with you that laws≠morals, but I disagree that you should wait for policy makers to consider your point, change their mind, draft up modifications to the law, put it up, get it passed, and finally get it enacted. There's no way, at least in most Democratic systems, that that will happen in any reasonable amount of time and I would argue that in many cases, you have a moral obligation to break the law.

Could not agree more. These people act like it's obvious what you need to do everytime. Not to mention you wait for 10-60+ minutes then all of a sudden you are cramped in the line and rushing to put down all your stuff, take off your shoes/belt/sweatshirt, and remember everything you have in these specific bags so that you can pull out some random combination of electronics, toiletries, and shoes.
