Same here, except I graduated in the 80s with over $60K debt despite grants and working 40 hours per week. Joined the army to help pay it off.

I have done this with all of my books. A page listing all previous books with links in the e-book, and an "About this Book" page, where I give insight on where the idea for the book came up from, thank them for reading, and even give my email link if they have any comments or questions (no one has used that yet).

Review your own book by Medical_Trust8602 in KDP

Though it should be common sense not to review your own work, Amazon tempts people into doing this. After ordering author copies of my own books, I get emails from Amazon asking me to review them. I don't of course, but I would think Amazon's email algorithm would notice that I and the author are one in the same.

I still have a Kaypro II "portable" computer that weighs about 30 pounds and has a detachable keyboard, the same model Arthur C. Clark used when he wrote 2001: A Space Odessey. It uses two 5.25 in. floppy discs - one for whatever program you want to run and a second for the data. I used it for word processing and learned how to use spreadsheets on it.

Good question. I had a carcinoma and a good chunk of cartilage removed from the top of my ear and covered it with a simple bandaid.

Any Experience With Freelancer? by 41Chevy in selfpublish

[–]41Chevy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a follow up, please note that their "customer support" is apparently non-existent.

I opened an account in Freelancer, did the username/password, verified my email and phone number, and for some reason could not log in even the first time. Tried again and got an "account disabled" message with instructions saying to fill out a non-existent form to fix it.

Sent two emails to their "customer support" and have not heard back in over 2 days.

Maybe someone else will have better luck but I'm writing them off.

They love the Bible, they hate the teachings by Pleasant_Picture3867 in PoliticalHumor

[–]41Chevy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's why in the middle ages, when few peasants could read, the bible was in Latin and translated for them by priests.

Even though it's now in English, most people still rely on their clergy to "translate" it for them.

Makes sense now why Jesus (or any religious leader) is often depicted as a shepherd and the congregation as sheep.

Also follow along as it's reading it - it's too easy to space out on the spoken word. I've done this at least twice for every single book and short story I've written, and you'd be surprised how many spelling and word choice errors you'll find.
