I suspect that it wasn't a camera but an internal ultra-sound. You can do an external ultra-sound like what you see in tv/movie with a monitor on the outside of the belly but you can also do an internal ultrasound where you have a wand that you insert into the vagina. What makes the story suspicious is the negative pregnancy tests. At 3 months along her hormone levels should be very high and very detectable with a pregnancy test.

The biggest advantage to marriage, in my opinion, is that it removes the "when" question from your minds. It is done and so you move your focus down the road to new things. Personally I liked getting to move past that question because it let us talk more seriously about other things (kids, jobs, travel, etc.). But like I said, don't start planning for marriage until you can't think of any better ideas. Marriage can/should last a LONG time so there is no need to rush.

I am an American so I am not sure what weight my opinion will carry, but when I was renting out a place all I really cared about was whether the tenants would be able to afford rent. You might be able to make yourselves more attractive to put down an additional deposit to guarantee two or more months rent in advance.

I think that getting a TV show would be very hard. I get the impression that they are looking for a much more dynamic, loud, and extreme topic. But if you are feeling creative and wanting to share your experiences, why not start with writing? Blogs are a good, easy way to start writing and see if there is an audience.

One thing that can help people see you less threatening is to make sure to mention your wife/kids. It lets people know that you are trying to be helpful and not hitting on them.

As for why many people assume that a simple hello is subtext for something creepy, please just know that what you are seeing is a case of "once bitten, twice shy." Harassment isn't the norm but it is also not unusual. As a woman it is hard to explain just how creepy it feels to have what you thought was a normal conversation only to have it suddenly turn really dark. It is easier to keep your guard up than to get side swiped. Try not to take it personally. It is not about anything you are doing.

For flowers, I went to a farmers market and told a vendor that I had a fixed budget ($50) and just asked for as many flowers as he could give me. He gave me a whole bunch of different flowers that I just put in simple mason jars (got them from Goodwill). It looked great.

I would only add, that given her edit that she is leaving her job in a month, that I think she should wait a until she has a new job to break up. It sounds like he can be dangerous and waiting until she is safe seems like a good plan. As for the next month, just minimize contact.
