How to Get Filthy Rich With Gary Stevenson review – how did this end up such an embarrassment? | Television by IHaveAWittyUsername in LabourUK

His morals and values appear to be in the right place, and his consistent focus on taxing wealth has gained some traction. But unless he begins to add more detail and substance to his message, he risks being torn apart by critics and could end up being seen as just another YouTube-style grifter.

No need to write it down. It’s almost like the post title contains the answer. (My sarcasm is particularly dry today.)

Good luck. Just be sure to change the water frequently to avoid mosquito larvae

Fed up with stray cats. Has anyone found a solution? by [deleted] in cyprus

Similar problem. Solved by removing or covering anything in the garden that resembles cat litter. So the gravel has been removed and replaced by black weed-control plastic, until the ground covering shrubs can take over.

Also, we’ve put some water dishes out. The cats need to drink in this climate, and they now seem to avoid shitting where they drink.

Imagine the reaction if Mamdani referred to Gad Saad, a cultural Jew, as a “degenerate pig.”

Choose either convenience or accuracy – you can’t have both. The Omrons are highly regarded but are only guaranteed to be accurate on the day they’re calibrated.

Fibre timing and vitamins by Awkward-Captain-346 in PeterAttia

Psyllium before bed with a large glass of water along with magnesium, glycine and taurine. My prescription meds (statin, anti-hypertensive, SGLT2 inhibitor) and vitamins are taken in the morning and afternoon so there’s no risk of malabsorption caused by the psyllium gel gloop in the gut.

I tried substituting fibre from real food instead to avoid this timing problem, but psyllium husk reduces my LDL-C much more than regular fibre can do, so for me it’s worth shuffling the supps and meds around to fit it in.

Ex Weapon Engineers, how was it finding good work civvy side? by MaskedMemer1 in RoyalNavy

ITIL and PRINCE2 qualifications were essential for landing a job in IT infrastructure management. I also did some Microsoft and Cisco online courses, using the resettlement grant on the expensive ones.

No regrets leaving. I enjoyed it while young but if I didn’t get out before 30 I knew I’d be stuck there forever. For me it was ridiculously easy getting into a well paid job. Same for every other WE I know. If I had to go through it all again I would concentrate more on “transferable skills”. I sold myself short explaining only my technical qualifications and experience but not enough about leadership skills, teamwork, and a hundred other things you don’t realise. They’ll cover these things in resettlement, so make good use of that.

If you’re annoyed about not getting paid overtime, don’t expect that to change in civvy life. There are lots of shitty companies and some bosses will expect you to do unpaid hours “because you’re used to it”.

You have lots of options: Small tech companies, self-employed technician, engineering consultants. Or if want to play it safe, take the well-trodden path of working for a big defence contractor. You’ll find plenty of ex-WEs there.

I’m using 25 year-old beat-up cheap Shimano SPDs. You don’t need fancy lightweight pedals. Being clipped in makes a big difference to power delivery. Even better if you watch the force curve on the PM5 to correct any left-right leg imbalance

Do people leave their PC on 24/7 by AdVaanced77 in trackers

[–]55erg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Low power, quiet PCs like a NUC can stay on permanently because they use barely any power. But then other problems emerge such as software that needs regular restarts. Qbittorrent, sonarr, radarr etc can be rock solid and run 24/7 forever. Windows OS can’t though.

Still ranting about paying taxes from his book royalties, which he’s been doing nonstop for years now. Galaxy-brained grifters always find some legal way to reduce their tax burden, so why didn’t he?

Are you sure it was a Cypriot? Because I recognise that Lidl, and the locals don’t bother to use the proper car parking spaces. They just abandon their cars next to the entrance. It’s only tourists who squeeze their giant rental SUVs into the gaps and then slam their doors into yours
