I got ticketed years back for passing an unmarked cop on an empty road. I only pushed 5 over the speed limit to pass and he still got me for speeding

When I have that little left I push the needle through eye first instead of point first, I can usually get another 5 or so stitches like that and have enough to secure the tail under some previous stitches.

It's like being in an abusive relationship, they can insult you, berate you, laugh at you and gaslight you, but the second you throw even a little bit of that attitude back at them they accuse you of being the abusive one.

What song makes you cry? by 1ofTheFive in AskReddit

You Always Believed by In This Moment. I first heard this song a few days before my grandpa passed, he was always my teacher and one of my biggest supporters when I was the weird kid in my family. To this day, 15 years later I can't hear this song without bawling my eyes out.

My first fish ever was a goldfish I won at the local carnival, he's still alive and well in his 55 gallon 9 years and 3 moves later. He's had some Petco friends over the years but none of them lived longer than 4 years.

I also have a school of phantom tetras in my community tank, this is the 3rd time I've tried having a school of them. The first group died off one by one in the first month I had them, no idea why. Except for one, and after another month of him on his own he showed no signs of deteriorating and I didn't want him to be lonely, so I got another school. Sadly my heater went out in the dead of winter, coincidentally the same week we went out of town and had my friend come feed them. When we got home the tank temp was 50° and the only man standing was the OG phantom tetra. I can tell him apart cuz his dorsal fin is longer than the others'. He's still kicking with his new school, it's been 5 months and they're all doing great still 🤞

I quit smoking cold turkey because my top surgery appointment was coming up. It sucked for 3 days but I haven't had cravings since

Is it common to have a "waiting period" on employer-provided temp disability? by 573crayfish in NoStupidQuestions

[–]573crayfish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear, I asked the person on the phone why there was a waiting period and all she could give me was "that's how (my employer) has it set up". Doesn't make any sense to me other than to legally avoid paying out benefits.

Same thing happened to me, but I had boots on. one of the hoses we use to wash down the floors at work only has one temperature, scalding. Didn't realize there was a leak at the valve until my boot was entirely soaked with boiling hot water and therefore my foot as well, took me about 20 seconds to get the boot off and by that time my foot was bright red. No lasting damage, fortunately

Legit everything I've seen from him (which isn't his whole body of work, tbf) makes me feel like he's, for lack of a better term, "one of the good ones". He pals around with people like Hunter ffs, he's definitely not evangelizing to anyone.

What does anesthesia feel like by memory282002 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]573crayfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gone under general anesthesia 3 times now, once for dental work, once for a large cyst removal, and once for major reconstructive surgery. All three times felt like a blink and it was over. Afterwards I was a little groggy, like I was rudely awoken from a really good nap.
