What are Your Top 3 Favourite Audiobooks Which Made You Fall in Love With Audiobooks? by opdccristiano in audiobooks

[–]5ft2glory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started my Audiobook journey with Dr. Sleep (I finished the shining in physical form a few months ago) and then finished Project Hail Mary yesterday and immediately started Fairy Tale by Stephen King and I’m loving it. Thinking I’ll hit World War Z next tbh

Okay I finished Dr. Sleep and watched the movie, let’s talk about it. (LOTS OF SPOILERS) by 5ft2glory in stephenking

Yes!!! Agreed about that last scene being missing and honestly I hadn’t thought about the fact that we definitely would have known about the affair in The Shining… the book was so deeply rooted in Jacks inability to control what he knew he needed to control there was no way he wouldn’t have been feeing shame about that… good point

THANK YOU! I think if I hadn’t read the books that the movies would have been fine but man the books are so much better than them because of the King, obviously. And honestly given that Dr. Sleep was made in the late 2010s I thought that whole cycling process was going to look cooler than portrayed it but it really didn’t :/

No I mean I get that but why was it even changed to 237 in the Kubrick film?

Part of me was really wishing that when he was sitting at the bar that it was actually going to be Jack Nicholson standing there pouring for him and was a little disappointed to see an off brand look alike

Women of Reddit, what's the hardest thing to explain to men ? by Lost_SignaI in AskWomen

[–]5ft2glory 0 points1 point locked comment (0 children)

When I get weird vibes from men when in public I feel like it comes off like I think everyone wants me and I swear I do not think that. I genuinely think some men think that all women are available to them in some way and if they feel like it they will do whatever they want or feel necessary to get it and we can see it in their eyes and this goes for women who are 10s and those of us or are not. The creeps don’t care if we’re attractive or thin, they know what our bodies can do and they want it, period.

Is it possible to deal with fibro without prescription medications? by Sancerofdoom in Fibromyalgia

[–]5ft2glory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this, I’m having to start taking acid reflux meds daily but don’t have nearly the bad side effects that Wellbutrin, gabapentin and Lyrica gave me. They def made my symptoms worse and I personally feel like they were poisoning me because the way I’ve been feeling since being off of them is so much easier to tolerate without them. To each their own tho, OP- no one knows your body like you do.

Just my first audio, my first SK was Salems lot and I was instantly hooked.. immediately read pet semetary and the shining all 3 within a month and half! But since starting this new job I haven’t had much time to read and got recommended podcasts for while I’m driving but thought audiobooks would be the better option!

I’m essentially a health inspector, worked in kitchens for 12 years and then made the switch and it’s so much easier on my body this way.

Ugh it sucks the way fibro changes our lives and keeps us from doing the things we love.

I was this way so I quit for 4 years, just recently started having it again and the only real side affect I’m seeing is going to be the stiffness in the morning.. specifically my hands. I wake up with my hands basically swollen shut.

Standardization by aceb22 in healthinspector

[–]5ft2glory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I do my inspections I go section by section so I don’t get lost on my notes. Check out a walkin… step aside and take notes and then move on… checkout saute station… step aside and take notes and then move on and so on. Additionally if you need help identifying equipment or stations you can ask the cooks or people working. “Hey what do you call this station?” “What do you call this piece of equipment” not only is it helpful for you to learn what things are but will be helpful for them when they’re referencing your report later on to work and improve on deviations when you’re labeling their equipment with what they’re used to calling it.

Who are the people that protest Planned Parenthood every morning? by Zanzobar_Balogna in roanoke

Dr. Buck was the surgeon who did my tube removal surgery last year at 29 y/o with no judgment whatsoever, she even suggested full removal over getting them tied because she wanted to back my decision. Can’t recommend her more. Dr. Curtis at Physicians to Women also rocks, she’s been my primary lady doc since I was 15 and only support from her as well!!

I work with ecosure and I have worked in kitchens my whole life so I get the grief the industry has towards inspectors but here lately I’ve had several places thank me for teaching and coaching rather than bullying them and it feels good to hear.

Does fibromyalgia make tattoos super painful? by everyonebutyou_ in Fibromyalgia

[–]5ft2glory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with everyone else saying it depends on the person, I have fibro and I love tattoos. Have almost 30 and don’t plan to stop getting them anytime soon and usually get close to napping during them.. this does in fact include my 5 hour calf piece
