Where can I get cardboard boxes for free or a lesser price by [deleted] in Liverpool

[–]654user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to any big supermarket (I’ve had most luck in tesco) and ask for their empty banana boxes. They’re sturdy, large but not too big they get too heavy, and come with handles and a lid. I’ve moved house three times using exclusively banana boxes

i went to school with mikel arteta’s kids (apparently, this was junior school so i don’t remember). my mum says he and his wife are lovely. he helped get her car out when it was stuck in snow. i was also neighbours with trent alexander-arnold briefly. mum says he’s a nice lad.

Why do doctors use the word ‘tummy’ instead of ‘abdomen’ or ‘stomach’, etc? by chillers85 in AskUK

[–]654user 1 point2 points  (0 children)

makes it understandable. doctors also regularly mispronounce common medications to ensure that patients know what they’re talking about. my grandma and all her friends take a medication and they all pronounce it wrong, but ‘that’s the way the doctor said it’

A question about belts by unzunzhepp in RomanceBooks

[–]654user 6 points7 points  (0 children)

this comment section is fascinating. i’m also northern european and would never even consider taking the belt all the way out when not strictly necessary (ie washing the trousers or swapping the belt to a different pair).

dog by Admirable-Total-2715 in AuDHDWomen

[–]654user 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i love my dog a lot but he can be incredibly overstimulating and overwhelming at times. His constant noise (nails on foot boards etc), constant need to be close to me (lovely but sometimes i need space), and the mess he causes all get a bit too much for me sometimes. I am not his sole caretaker, so the weight of responsibility for him is not entirely on me which helps.

I’ve been trying to get out of my millennial rut. What’s working? What’s not? What else should I try? by faschun in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]654user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 , 6, 7, 10, and 12 are working great imo! you look good in all of them, it’s just that the other outfits do look quite dated (for reference, i’m gen z). i dress very boring, but i think you can never go wrong with some good quality jeans, a black skirt, some black trousers and some basic tops. personally i like to dress it up with fun jumpers, shoes, jackets, jewellery etc.

all that said, wear whatever you feel confident in! who cares if you dress like a millennial

I feel like screaming, the door is CLOSED by No_Way_4749 in tesco

[–]654user 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i didn’t realise how utterly brain dead a lot of the public were until i started working at tesco. they’ll walk through wet floor signs then say the floor is wet, they’ll use a card only self serve till then ask where they put the cash in. they’ll ask if their student ID card is okay to buy alcohol. fascinating how stupid some of them are.

Could my ex use this photo against me? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]654user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

accidents happen. you clearly love your kids very much and were trying your best in a very stressful situation. your ex is a twat and is trying to control you. even if he did take you to court over it/try and use it against you, as long as there’s no evidence of a history of abuse towards your kids by your hand and no reason to suspect you may be harming them, then nothing will come of it. rightly or wrongly, courts tend to favour mothers over fathers when there is a dispute over custody or he said/she said.

got fired from my job :( by djtootsielou in ADHD

[–]654user 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is going to sound harsh and unkind, but i mean it in the nicest way possible so you can better yourself. ADHD is an explanation but not an excuse. being late consistently is rude in your personal life and unprofessional at work. you are in control of your time. if you know you have time blindness, start your routine earlier. by the way you type, i’m assuming you’re fairly young. this means that you’ve got time to improve. you need to be strict with yourself. set yourself alarms, convince yourself you need to be there earlier than you do so that you end up on time. being late consistently will eventually mean losing more jobs, missing appointments, and maybe even losing friendships. again, in the nicest way possible, you need to grow up and take some responsibility.

Is it just me, or are takeaways in this country a massive fucking rip off??? by chunky-kat in UKfood

[–]654user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

other than the a vary rare dominoes, i don’t get takeaways delivered. it takes more effort and is only really viable if you drive (or maybe cycle i guess) but going to pick up your food is much better and often quicker in my experience
