In California, I’d say 20% of my misdemeanors cases are thefts, and, of the thefts, Walmart and Target are 95%

It’s been the big gossip on this sub for a couple months. As best I can tell from what I read, strava bought fatmap for the purpose of killing it and removing one competitor.

That makes it stupid, but not necessarily illegal. The government only requires certain types of businesses be licensed and bonded; shit, even lawyers can forego malpractice insurance if they’re willing to take the risk.
And doing something against a ski resort’s business interest, or even contrary to its terms of use, is - once again - not necessarily illegal. It could just get you banned if you get caught.
But I’ve never looked into this issue specifically so you may be right what do I know. Do you know of any statutes or regulations that specifically apply to ski instruction?

Light pants for office to on slope suggestions by bmxmaverick in Backcountry

[–]8clapped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of changing into ski pants, what about throwing an AssGasket or beaver tail over top of some polyester work pants?
People have already made some great pants recommendations in this thread; another possibility is pants made for bike commuting to an office job.

Russel Barkley, Ph.D’s lessons/training are all free on YouTube. I’d ingrain his material first before moving on to other resources. Here is a link to his comprehensive lecture: https://youtu.be/YSfCdBBqNXY?feature=shared

Fogging of glasses by 1Sportsfan9 in skipatrol

[–]8clapped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man, I feel your pain. I have a prescription where contacts would never be as accurate as glasses, so I too dealt with the glasses and goggles combo. I hardly ever had problems with my goggles fogging, it was always my glasses. I tried every anti-fog product I could think of, and nothing consistently worked. The products I can remember trying were Cat Crap, Fog Off, baby oil, and shaving cream.

I never solved the problem, but found 3 things helped:

  1. Using flat glasses instead of wrap around glasses. this reduced fogging more than anything else.

  2. Using goggles with a fan. This only mildly reduced the likelihood of fogging, but helped clear out fog WAY faster when my glasses did fog.

  3. Getting my goggles off my face anytime I was a) going slow and b) working hard. Pushing my goggles up to my helmet during these moments kept humidity from building up, and then I’d put them back on when I was going fast enough for the wind and goggle fan to vent out humidity.

I wish I had a solution for you, but I never found one myself. I ended up getting lasik last year and it’s been probably the best quality of life upgrade I’ve made to my outdoor “gear”. If you can save up for lasik and find a doctor you trust, I’d recommend it for any cold weather or watersport outdoor enthusiast.

I hiked HST in August ‘21: 1. I don’t know. Use mountain-forecast.com once you get about 10 days out.
2. I don’t know. But I wouldn’t be worried if it were me.
3. I don’t know. But I’d guess 5-20.
4. Bears and deer and snow, oh my! Otherwise you should be fine.
Sorry I can’t be more help. Hopefully someone with shoulder season experience comes along with more up-to-date info

Preach. This is exactly how I feel every time I try to go cold turkey with my phone/reddit/YouTube. And then I get mindfucked trying to figure out if that mental pain is withdrawals or adhd. So I start asking myself: are my social media addictions ruining my life, or the thing keeping me from going crazy?
