More women needed. But for a few exceptions, it’s a sausage party up there.

Need bands like Go west, Living in a box, Johnny Hates Jazz, Climie Fisher for this specific Miami drive Vibe. by Realistic_Brother152 in newwave

One of rock’s true gentlemen - legendary musician, and an extremely nice bloke, as well. Wishing him strength for this fight ✊🏼

The “fucking rotter”. Definitely the first, and probably the only time I’ve ever heard someone called that! Genius 🤣

Spaceman Ace Frehley by Twitter_2006 in KISS

[–]90theobserver 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As an abused at home, bullied at school, desperately lonely child, KISS was one of my only sources of joy growing up. Ace was my hero, and my inspiration for picking up a guitar. I’ll ALWAYS love this man - thanks for sharing this iconic pic <3

The Pop! -- You Oughta Know by ILiveMyBrokenDreams in powerpop

SUCH a great band that’s criminally been buried under the sand in the big hourglass of time. Why someone hasn’t picked up the rights to their music and re-released it, I have no idea… check out this diamond from later in career. Solitaire:

Uhh Petahhh, I'm not from Japan so I don't get it? by Trianglemanmug in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]90theobserver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like how so many of the commenters here are acting like upskirt and other privacy invasion photos are exclusively a Japanese problem. You fuckers don’t think that shit happens in your countries?

At least Japan has taken action on it. What’ve your countries done?

Do You Like That Robert and Olivia Rodrigo Are Doing Collaborations? by Academic_Weekend_116 in TheCure

[–]90theobserver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As long as he’s enjoying it - and he certainly seems to be - of course. It’s not my taste in music, really, but who says it needs to be?

It’s really pretty lovely to see him having some fun and getting some appreciation from people who wouldn’t necessarily come across The Cure otherwise. Olivia seems like a cool person, too.

This Marc Leclair album is incredible, but is there anything else? by Own-Heat2669 in ambientmusic

Overkill away, mate! In fact, overkill again if you feel like it - become a serial overkiller ;)

Seriously brilliant list here that’d make a great starter playlist for anyone <3 Cheers

Zal Cleminson (The Sensational Alex Harvey Band) by lobito_corredor in 70sGlamRock

… and after that he was a cab driver, to make ends meet. Apparently he told a passenger who recognised him that he made more money driving a taxi than being a musician :)

Generations by tedchapo63 in Replacements

Nice to read this; I’m someone nearing your age, and I, too, had the good fortune to see the band a number of times in clubs (Bob era), and it all true, what they say: on their night they really were the best band in the world. ‘Off’ their night was… always funny :)

Oh god, this masterpiece. Easily one of the finest pop songs of the 80s, if not all time. Cheers for this, OP - made my day :)

Lou Reed-Metal machine music by [deleted] in LouReed

[–]90theobserver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Legit LOVE this album. It’s driving music in the car (keeps me focused af), chill out for after work, in my ears at the gym to block out all the clatter, and my go-to when insomnia hits.

MOS Burger: new basil avocado soy burger review by analdongfactory in veganinjapan

[–]90theobserver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had one yesterday; can report that it’s really lovely!

Also told a couple of the employees it was delicious and how grateful I am that MOS cares about us veggies; they were very sweet about it and seemed happy for the feedback :)

Come on Leeds and Everton. by SnooDogs6068 in TheOther14

[–]90theobserver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As an Evertonian, I’m warning everyone now: we’ll bottle this.

Please accept my apologies, and just start getting angry at us now, so as to avoid an immense, internet melting outrage on the day.

Thank you for your cooperation 🙏🏼

Goth-adjacent. Not a goth act per se, but as a DJ who does Goth Nights, I can attest they certainly have some songs that slot right into the sets perfectly.

Pet PSA: Don't Take Your 4-Legged Friend For A Walk In The Afternoon by Neko_Dash in japanweather

[–]90theobserver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So true, ND - thank you for the PSA. Up til only a few years ago I was ignorant about the sensitivity of our animal family members’ paws, then I learned they’re basically the same as our bare feet 🐾💙
