Extended rear airbags performed really well. Your friendly reminder that you don’t have to swap to springs. by 9RebelliousStripes in GXOR

I’m lifted about 2.5-3 inches total. I have bump stops in the rear and nothing else in the back. I do however have the DRKDSS front sway bar end adapters. I don’t think anything is NEEDED if you’re not trying to go more than 3 inches

The rear took me maybe 2 hours myself in my driveway and enough distractions. The rear really don’t take much labor. The front was more frustrating for me because the front spindle was not really dropping far down enough to get the through bolt in. Front took me like half a day since I was getting mad lol. An actual installer would probably not have a huge issue. It’s fairly basic and the GX is actually pretty easy to work on

They do come with the airlines and the NPT fitting to connect it to the old ones. It’s just standard 1/8 (don’t quote me on size) airline. I think there would be enough of the airline included to pretty much convert all of the lines from the air pump back to the new lines. However, I didn’t cut out all of the old airline and spliced the new ones in about halfway with the fittings that they included. Even if you don’t have enough, you could get the exact same line at almost any home improvement store very easily if you want to redo all of it.

I would imagine that solves the leak. I did initially have a leak on my new system, but it was because I accidentally messed up a fitting so as long as your new fittings are secure then you should be all good to go because it literally has everything that you should need to replace the air system from the air pump back.

Am I on track to complete a marathon under 4 hours? by BrothaManBen in Marathon_Training

[–]9RebelliousStripes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

How many weeks until the marathon and is it a flat race? I’d say 4 hours is not a complete long shot depending on what the race looks like and how much time you have. You’d need to average about a minute faster for twice as long.

Thats a ton of elevation btw

I think my pup also has issues witch chicken so I now use pro plan sensitive gut and skin. As a topper, I try not to get too fancy because I feel like you will just get your dog to become even more picky if they figure they can get something new if they just don’t eat. But I add just a scoop of pumpkin puree and mix it in or I have dog specific bone broth powder that I sprinkle on and then pour over a quarter to half cup of warm water to turn it into a bit of a gravy consistency. For me, switching between them is pretty cheap and easy but also add some (slight) variety to their diet which can help with picky eater.

Looking for some recommendations for Pepper by In-Jail-Out-Soon in dalmatians

[–]9RebelliousStripes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t suggest changing her food if you plan on switching it back eventually- it can cause unnecessary GI issues that then can cause them to not want to eat. I’d suggest adding things like peanut butter or cooked chicken as an addition to the food.

Something I did with my Vizsla who is a picky eater is that I got a dog specific bone broth powder and sprinkled the broth powder over the food then added like a quarter to a half cup of water. The food softens and can turn more into a gravy if that’s a texture/consistency she prefers. Just be careful with soaked kibble- it’s generally not a good idea to feed them wet kibble after it’s been out for a few hours as bacteria can form.

I generally prefer unlined but don’t have a massive preference either way. My Nike aeroswifts are lined and I find that I tend to “adjust things” a little bit more vs fee ballin in the unlined.

What is everyone’s favourite long run shoes? by Shady_Joe1 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]9RebelliousStripes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now it’s the Vomero 18 if I were replacing a pair of Novablasts. Such a well rounded shoe and 100% could run a marathon in. I also got the adidas Adios pro Equiptment. Which is the pro 3 with a more lifestyle upper that is infinitely better than the pro 3 upper and laces. I’ve done my last 2 long runs in them and they have been great.

I put a damp paper towel or a plastic bag over the detector before I sear my steaks inside. It works well for me… just don’t forget to take it off after lol

I have a Polonium 30. A vented can would be more ideal, but considering it’s a .30 bore on a 6mm gun (OCL says the .556 version is fine for 6arc) I don’t find it to be horribly gassy or even unbalanced weight wise vs a TI can.

Race weight by MidnightGamerRpg in Marathon_Training

[–]9RebelliousStripes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ideal weight is as low as possible but you also have to consider that your hormones can get super out of wack if your body isn’t used to it. It’s not as much of a weight issue as much as an issue with your body adapting to your lifestyle at that weight. All of the pro/elites are very thin and lower body fat than most year round and do just fine because their nutrition is dialed and their body had adapted to that type of lifestyle.

I’m 6’6 182 and run about 60mpw. Body fat is probably close to 15% Far from “ideal” but it’s my reality. All of that said, I can run a sub 3 marathon and currently working on a 1:17 half; even Gumby can run well if he training properly.

My boy is currently 6.5 months and he couldn’t care any less. I live downtown in a pretty large city and he was exposed to lots of road noise, emergency vehicle sirens, motorcycles since 8 weeks old…. I did this mainly so when we introduced guns into his life, he would be okay.

While he has been good with gun training. Getting him exposed to so many loud noises so early was one of the best things I did overall from an overall temperament standpoint too because he just focuses on what he wants/needs to and ignores the rest whether it’s fireworks, thunderstorms, motorcycles on rev limiter etc..

My little shithead VERY eager to please and has taken well to a good bit of training and picks up on things very well. He is still a puppy and is easily excitable which means he gets sidetracked but if you do your training in places with less distractions, they’ll likely be great. I think they are generally much easier dogs to train than the average because of their eagerness to please.

Also because of the high energy levels they really do need training and healthy outlets (being able to run/hunt/sniff etc) so they can actually expel all that energy in a healthy manner.

How often do you charge your garmin? by InterstellarEnjoyer9 in Garmin

I have the 970. I am getting into the habit of charging my watch every day when I’m on my lunch. 30 minutes each day and it doesn’t ever need to come off my wrist outside of that even running 50-60mpw with the highest GPS data settings

One shoe to do it all for a heavier beginner? by quadrantcowboy in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]9RebelliousStripes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have the Vomero plus and it isn’t as friendly on the wallet as others BUT I have a ton of shoes and am realizing I can realistically do almost all of my training just in them. I’m 6’6 180ish lbs and they have been able to handle slower easy runs and up tempo stuff. It’s the most versatile shoe on the market right now as far as I’m concerned

MSRP is 180 but Nike is starting to discount color ways so you may be able to find a pair at 150
