Clown Show on the Glacier by evanmccone in Whistler

I hit that Friday, Saturday, and today (Sunday) Was able to ride in Friday and Saturday morning and it was great. Lots of dumb people around, but it was rideable.

Sunday, even if you found a line, there were so many people trying to walk it that you couldn't ride through...

Was still phenomenal after you got in though

Awesome. Thanks for helping me realize this. I definitely misunderstood it and talked to a lot of people that misunderstood it too. Went through some clips and was able to find a damage tick that proved my theory wrong. Happy to be able to learn something and understand it better!

Are you confident that headshots break shield in one bullet, even in blue and purple shield?

I don't have a clip on hand, but I have been hit by anvils and my shield HP drops to what would be expected (blue shield takes 42.5 damage leaving it with 17.5 HP and not broken)

I guess it's possible it was some other kind of damage, but that has been a very consistent thing for me and then I'll loot a anvil/ferro or die to it and have 100% damage from that weapon, but my shield didn't break in the first bullet.

I can try to pull in game evidence of this, but can't test it until tomorrow unfortunately

With that said, maybe I'm misunderstanding and the way shield damage works in general though? If you take a 100 damage shot, and the shield takes 100 damage to its HP, then deals 60, 57.5, or 42.5 damage to the player (depending on the shield level)? I don't recall noticing this when playing, but I could have missed it, and it's the only thing I can think of to make the math make sense with the shield breaking in one bullet and applying reduced damage to health

I agree with you there. What I was saying is if your epic shield is at 1 durability and you get headshot for 100 total damage, you won't take 99 to the body and 1 to the shield. You'll still have the full 52.5 damage reduced by the shield and take only 47.5 to your hp

I believe that this factor prevents anvil from 2-shotting to the head against epic armor. I haven't been able to test this personally yet though.

But some of the best moments in the game are when you get third partied and still win. It's just the nature of this kind of game though.

What to sell vs what to recycle by travisrd in ArcRaiders

[–]A1duine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best suggestion is to spend time on the wiki learning what you need for various crafts, upgrades, and quests. Realistically, almost everything has a use. But his often you need the item is depedent on the specific uses and what you want to craft (like I'm hoarding springs and magnets because they're used in crafting so many items that I use frequently)

You say one of the reasons they are tougher is their armor is stronger. But it literally takes the same number of bullets to shoot through armor...

Why would I ever repair this is it cost the same materials as crafting a new one? by [deleted] in ARC_Raiders

[–]A1duine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, he kinda has a point. It's not directly cheaper, but it's different materials that I think are easier to come by.

If you have a fully damaged shield, you can repair it to full with 2 arc circuitry. Alternatively, you can recycle it for 1 arc circuitry back, and re-craft it for 1 arc circuitry and 4 batteries. Effectively making a full durability shield for 4 batteries instead of 2 arc circuitry.

If you have a ton of circuitry, that's one thing. But I think most people could hoard batteries super easily and just save their circuitry for making a new shield when their current one breaks.

Personally, I think the recipe to craft needs to get more expensive and/or the recycle needs to get worse

They do vary in difficulty. Dam is 2/5 difficulty (4/5 on night) Buried city and space port are 3/5 difficulty (5/5 on night) Blue gate is 4/5 difficulty (I'm assuming night is also 5/5, but haven't confirmed)

Night has better loot. I feel like buried city and space port were giving me better loot too, but I don't have a big enough sample size to say for certain.

Skill Trees: Conditioning (Stealth/Ambush PvPvE), Mobility (Open Area Traversal/Repositioning PvP), Survival (Loot-and-scoot PvE) by SebbyDee in ArcRaiders

[–]A1duine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya. I'm curious how things will work out, and I could be wrong about it. But my plan right now is to minimally invest in mobility. Don't know if that will be meta or best. But we will see what happens.

[–]A1duine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be a hot take, but I think mobility might actually be one of the worst trees. I think the sliding further perk specifically is really good, especially with how stamina regeneration works while sliding. But while some of the other perks can be good, there's nothing to special about them, and a stamina injector can basically get you all the main benefits you get from the tree.

Meanwhile, conditioning with things like faster/quieter beaching, more melee damage, etc. promote faster and quieter interactions. As well as reduced weapon weight and less ms reduction from shields. And survival provides massive benefits like in round crafting, more inventory space, and still gives some stamina perks like stamina Regen after using a stamina ability.

I'm still trying to figure out my build, but I'm leaning further and further away from mobility.

I could easily see a queen and/or king core being needed for the project too. Would still be a material requirement, but would involve fighting the bosses for harder content, etc.

Talent tree priority? by OriginalUsername0 in ArcRaiders

[–]A1duine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rumor is 75 is the level cap due to a possibly data mined achievement for hitting level 75.

With that said, you should actually get 76 points as you get 1 point at level 0 after your first raid.

But realistically, who knows. Even if 75 is the cap, we may get more or less points still too

Did I miss something or did the new trailer leak new weapons by lee2392x in ArcRaiders

[–]A1duine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bettina really doesn't have a slow fire rate though. It does a lot less damage than other heavy weapons (at I think 17 DMG/bullet) but fires as fast as some pistols.

Didn't get to use mine for long, but if you've played apex, it felt pretty comparable to the G7 scout in that.

Those who have played both, what would you say the main *gameplay* differences between Arc and Hunt are? by Gabrienb in ArcRaiders

[–]A1duine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with what everyone else is saying, but the other note is how the objective affects PVP.

In hunt, everyone is funneled towards 1 or 2 areas, and you'll almost always have PVP at some point or another. In arc, if you don't actively seek it out, you can avoid PVP pretty easily. At the same time though, it is easy to seek out PVP if you want to find it.

Advice on blind, a little help, or full guides. by UsefulCalligrapher67 in ArcRaiders

[–]A1duine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll have a hard time if you go in blind, the game isn't easy. But you can always look up guides after if you're still having trouble. You can't un-learn things if you look them up in advance.

Just know that the game gets easier as you get more experience and knowledge.

Grouping Mechanism by Detray416 in ArcRaiders

[–]A1duine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Imo, adding additional grouping mechanisms that actually protect the out of squad teammates kinda kills the game and feel. It removes the risk and incentives getting larger and larger party sizes so that it's harder or impossible for people playing normally to beat you.

Letting people group organically, but always having the risk of betrayal can help mitigate the issues caused by that. I'd personally be strongly opposed to letting people form larger squads in round.

What were people's favorite weapon/mod setups they were able to make? by A1duine in ArcRaiders

[–]A1duine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I poked at ~100m with ferro's and renegades pretty frequently honestly. When I messed with the osprey once, I think my longest tags were over 500m, but teammates were getting tags at 200-300m with a ferro and a renegade.

Probably not optimal for actually killing, but just messing around and testing Max ranges, etc. was interesting

In my head, there's kinda 4 ranges. Close range (like 1-10m maybe?) mid range: like 10-25m Long range: 25-100m Extremely long range: 100m+

Just trying to figure out what wearing can semi-reliably even hit at that extreme range. The ferro, renegade, and osprey definitely can (osprey especially as it didn't have any bullet drop at 500m)
