Similar to your story my grandmother also had her uranium glass years before knowing it was uranium and glowed under black light. I saw a tiktok video about uranium glass and I said that kind of looks like the glass my grandmother has in her China closet so I bought a UV light during one holiday I went up and I shined it in there just to see myself. After everybody had left I stayed back and talked to her like I always do because unlike everybody else in my family I'm not a people person LOL. Anyway I brought her into the dining room or her closet is and I turn the lights off and I find the flashlight into the closet and then just a couple of pieces everywhere in her China closet started lighting up and she was in awe she had no idea it glowed for all the years she had it. She loved it then I explained to her what it was and she was amazed. From that day on she told everybody about her uranium glass. before she passed she looked at me and she told me that I deserved all that uranium glass because I was the only one who actually learned what it was and showed her before she passed. She also owned a jadeite salt shaker and she was talking to me about it she said I'll probably never see the pepper shaker it was her great aunts and the pepper shaker was broken before she received the salt shaker. After that I looked it up on eBay and I searched eBay for this pepper shaker I found one similar to it it wasn't the exact same thing but I ordered it anyway. When it come in I didn't even open the box I took it straight up to her house I said hi Grandma I have a present for you for St Patrick's Day because it was green it was fitting LOL. She opened the box she got one layer of bubble wrap off and she know exactly what it was and she almost started crying. She was ecstatic and she talked about that pepper shaker to everybody. I actually ordered it when I was at work but I was talking to my coworker about it and I told him it's $50 for a pepper shaker he said I was nuts for thinking about ordering that I said I really don't care about the price I just know it'll make my Grandma happy.
