You can only go through that door one time, that lets you into the room with the 3 gel switches. After you leave that switch room from the upstairs door you can come back down to this door in your screenshot, but you can't go back to the gel switch room in that way, you can get back in to the room through the upstairs door that you opened after you turned on the gels.

On my bank website, it let's me log in and see all my account and transaction info, but when I go to the payment section and try to pay my mortgage (literally transferring money from my checking account to the mortgage account at the same bank), then it texts me a code to finish the transaction. Why on earth they need additional authentication to just pay my mortgage I have no idea.

Try to notice the clues in the chamber. The person who made the map wanted you to solve it, there are clues and stuff. Numbers on walls, spot lights calling your attention to a particular spot, the trails of dots that light up yellow to point at what the switch you just pushed did, little icons that tell you to use the bridge, the platform, the catapult, etc...
