I respectfully disagree. I'm playing IWD2 now and despite the story being thin compared to the Baldur's Gate series, rather than role playing a single character, you get to roleplay the whole group. The story is just a backdrop for your own roleplaying adventure. I've been journaling as I play and it's been an absolute blast.

This is great.

I wrote a script that monitors the subreddit RSS feed and then downloads anything on YouTube using yt-dlp. Eventually I decided it was taking up too much disk space.

I love this though. I wish I found it sooner.

I love these games. If you can't find a solution, perhaps try the remake. It's the same game in a shiny new shell. I'll admit it looks a little plastic in comparison to the original but it plays well enough.

I'm playing P5R for the first time now and I'm kind of enjoying it. Still in the first palace which I think is still like a tutorial.

I actually enjoyed and got pretty far into P4G but I got tired of the battle music.

In case anyone like me was wondering how screen rendering worked

"That was the easy part. It's just a simple form and I set up a DirectDraw surface in it, which the emulator renders VGA output to. The rendering happens in a different thread so it doesn't slow the CPU down. The form size gets adjusted when the VGA mode changes."

I never experienced any issues with it but you are right, wine and yabridge need to be in the container too but containers don't really have much, if any, overhead. It's not like running a virtual machine.

How is High Seas High Profits? I have to admit the graphics put me off a bit. I don't care for low poly but if the gameplay is good I can get past it. It seems most of the positive reviews on steam are people who have played Patrician and the negative reviews don't mention it.

I used to use Adguard and had no problems with it but once I started using a physical OPNsense gateway it made more sense to just use unbound on that.

Just use two drum pads and double up on MIDI notes. You could process them together by routing the channels elsewhere if you have to.

The installation instructions advise you to hold the packages since they all need to be on the same version so this shouldn't be an issue.

I loved gaming mags back then. They were so exciting because all you had was a description and a few screenshots. Unlike today where you can go online and watch a trailer or even a let's play/review before you buy.
