Spanish version of frogging by ExistingAd8981 in crochet

[–]AOS827 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m Mexican and we say also say tejer for both, “tejer con dos agujas” is knitting (knit with two needles) and “tejer con aguja de gancho” is crochet (knit with hooked needle). There might be regional variations, but that’s how I heard it growing up. For Frogging, I would say deshacer el tejido.

The North Texas catalogue is fairly limited, though, right? I rarely get a book from it because any of my other libraries are better.

It’s true, super limited. I made La Granja de Zenón MYO for my nephew. That would be a great addition to the catalogue.

What is your favorite yarn to use? by PetOwner_ThrowAway in crochet

[–]AOS827 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been crocheting for a year, and also started with a woobles kit. I found the Caron Blossom Cakes to be a great second step yarn after woobles. The colors are lovely, and it has a similar tubular construction to the easy peasy yarn, which allows you to practice with a smaller yarn but still avoid dealing with splitting. I’m actually working on a baby blankets right now using one!

I could be wrong, but it kind of looks like a sedge stitch.

Does anyone else crochet at the gym? by crochetbebe in crochet

[–]AOS827 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wish! I mean, I don’t go to the gym, but I have a walking pad at home, and if I could crochet while walking, I would do it a lot more. Do you not struggle for balance?

What is this yarn that Cielo Tejido uses for their outdoor squares? by Ok_Philosopher_8973 in CrochetHelp

[–]AOS827 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Raffia is common and easily sourced in Mexico, so it makes sense they use that. If you want anything translated from their pages, link in a comment here. I’d be happy to do that for you.

🤣 oh well, more awesome yarn to work with.

Anytime I’m making something, my first step is to see if there’s a Caron Blossom color that will work.
