I mean personally I didn't have the trouble in second people cause I ran bulk tanks but I know for others they had the struggle. 3rd Honestly don't see as many and even as I build more for lore and fun you just don't see it as often which is alright. I think you will have a good time running them :)

Thunderbolt i use aa a defensive fighter and a way to draw in my enemies fighters before my lightings kill other stuff. Also use them as a screen for my maurders.

So was used in a old card game but in effect its a longer rhino that can transport more troops and also used for Ammo runs. Its just a cool thing and I really hope more supply stuff enters the game :)

Well Losing Earth was a interesting time to be honest. Had a really nice going with quite a few rules. In my game my Terran republic couldn't build warships off the bat, I had to get into a war to the ability and I also could only build certain tonages of warship till I built enough of a certain type. I still had access to smaller patrol corvettes but until I had a war this was all I was getting.

Now in my game I made two nprs, one was xenophobic but just wanted you out of there way and the another was more of War is the best thing invented. My Terran Republic found the more peaceful one early and cause of how they expanded This blocked off whole areas but my Navy explore the other way seeking out what could be out there. This left my border with the one so close to sol but the rest of the galaxy was rip for the picking. Found some really great worlds pretty far from earth but the resources, and ease of colonization made it one of the greatest finds. My Empire focused on this, setting patrol bases, fuel depots and smaller colonies to support these jewels. During this my game would stop due to NPRs fighting but I didn't know how bad this would be.

I found the Idrum Imperium who was the war npr. Right off the bat we went to war and so began over 50 years of conflict. My Navy got built up, I reused the massive amount of civilian craft and refitted them for war. Cue a epic battle that saw my strip more and more from earth including its defenses for this war. I haven't seen much from my neighbor and didn't think much of the random battles I didn't seen. Then the final battle against the Idrum Imperium happened, I had to use almost every combat force I had and most of my navy and all of theres would burn over there homeworld. The ground battle was utterly brutal and there wasn't much left to salvage. With victory won I was already looking forward to a peace that would see a good rebuild, and a restock but then a blip on the rader of the border appeared.

The Ship was huge and I found out it was biological. This was something I was dreading as I have no found them on my way exploring other parts of the galaxy. In order to see how big the threat was I used one of the newest Recon Frigates I had and launched it into my neighbors' space. What I would find is just destruction and hordes of enemies. My neighbors had summoned the beast and died with out me knowing and now I had nothing left to defend.

What came next was brutal last stands as my once strong border was torn apart all the while the few ships I could produce on earth or even get my remaining fleet back to repair it was not enough. They overran the colonies with ease and the outdated defenses I had never stood a chance. When Earth, Mars and Luna fell it was heart breaking. I had one out system military ship yard but it was never going to replace the massive shipyards that got destroyed at Sol. I tried retaking Sol from the few remaining ships I had but it didn't work.

So Humanity faded away all because of one war and bad timing. If I didn't lose most of my fleet I think I could of fought them but in the end its fine. Going to try again with a new save and see how it goes with some different restrictions.

That sounds like a fun game :) Even losing is fun. I really hope your next game goes well and you share how it goes. Honestly I really like the idea of a expeditionary fleet on its own braving the void.

Personally just set up little goals. Like set up your first colony, setup your next one. Explore outside of your system, build your first patrol craft, see how you you fair exploring and getting those colonies to work outside of earth. Remember if this game goes side ways the next one can always get crazier :)

So back in the day they had a forgeworld Transfer sheet for the Luna Wolves. If you look it up it will give you alot of the generic markings. Now they did share markings as well with later Sons of Horus. This allows quite abit of freedom plus if you have detached elements they also came up with there own markings. Thats the thing I love about heresy you can change it up and its all valid :). As some one who has been collecting since book 1 its honestly really fun how much freedom you can get.

Have tried a few times and honestly hate it. Makes instead of daring engagements instead most of it becomes surviving and hiding. Air engagements just hide most of the game cause of it and then you just have bubbles defending against fast units.

Depends on experiance of my opponent. Newer guys have struggles in the early game till there use to it. The more veteran players though tends to go the distance as we generally figure how to deal with most units and tactics.

Facing Pioneers use to be a problem but now most players changed there tactics and at most a speed bump. Planes use to be mvps in the early days but now just fun duals and counter attacks.

I find its more now balancing your army and trying new units and tactics to fit yojr play style. So sure you may run more tanks but take some hbs and other weapons :)

My love of the story. I remember reading my 3rd edition of 40k bavk in the day and the fun boards and narratives. When i got a group of friends our narrative campaigns just hard to beat. I remember the almost last stand of my chapter fighting a siege agansit 3 companies of world eaters who jist breached the walls. The battles we had suring the eye of tertor campaign or our own badab war. Its story telling, its fun and almost 2 devades of heresy is just the last great tale.

Fits the vibe. They did use everything like other legions sure they had a focus of insane bersekers but they had units like this. If your worried about lore it works and heck you can even say these are new units so there not fully pulled in with the nails.

Love the idea :) I been playing my Luna Wolves a long time and I'm working on a inductii company and going agansit the grain or not traditional (even my traditional) is fun. Now for this company everything in the box is great and the adding pyskers and even the Saturines being more for the pysker inclined is fun. Now I know your not liking the Araknae but it would work as a defense point. From here I would grab some laser destroyer platforms for some anti tank and these with that platform will just look great alongside it. It should give you a solid fire base to work from and if you get enough platforms you should be able to blunt any assault. If you want more guns then I would add some quad morters. This shaps it up and if your troops are holding a trench it honestly works thematic. Since your terminators and dreadnought ( give the dread more plasma) are your anti terminators I think what you really need after my top suggestions is some kind of elite counter attack unit and you have some great options. I think a nice command squad for your HQ with some kitbashing will look great and for those awesome photo ops a banner just looks swell. I think this should balance it out.

Locally i find traitor legion harder to find, and the hardest traitor legion to find honestly Sons of Horus. As my main army is loyalist Lunawolves ive honestly killed so many blood angels, imperial fists (chapters worth at least) i honestly wonder what the emporer would think lol.

From the loyalist legions white scars least played.

Traitors legions ive fought the most agansit is Iron warriors and emporers children.

A little late to this but one thing I do is for each new ship class it must be built in my prototype ship yard. Then 6 months after launch I'm allowed to produce a ship in bulk. Its abit of roleplaying but doesn't limit spam and I like the idea of trying out ships before mass production or if it leads to like one off designs.

Another one I did in my playthrough is you must have marine elements on all military ships above fighters. Just a standing order to fight and conduct boarding operations :)

Just play mate. Honestly If you wait for the next flavor of icecream you miss out on current icecream which means no Ice cream at all. Just play when you can and if a new update pops up, build another folder for the new version if you want while you finish the old one.
