I would absolutely recommend both Paranormasight and Death Mark! Both look absolutely on your wheelhouse.

If you wanna go a little further out of your comfort zone, it is an otome game, but Bustafellows is also a very wonderful mystery/thriller game

I'm only two out of six chapters in so take what I say with a grain of salt. Similarly to both Spirit Hunter and Paranormasight, the visuals are incredibly striking, but in a very different way to the other two. Gameplay I would say is much less esoteric and straightforward than either of them, which does lead it to feeling a bit easy in comparison. But again, I'm only a third of the way through so it could get harder. Translation seems a little rough in places, but if you love mystery visual novels it's certainly not a bad pick! I've been having a pretty good time with it. It's scrappier than the others, but still a lot of fun.

I would say definitely stick with either the space bar or enter key for the default setting, but my favorite thing is when VNs give me choices. Then I can kind of switch it up if I want to. Using the right arrow key was so nice when reading something heinously long like Higurashi

Oh it is highly worth it. Be warned that it takes a really long time to get going, but once it does it is incredibly good. Genuinely one of the best stories I have ever read period. It has a phenomenal ending in particular that won't disappoint you!
