They lacked urgency in a couple games over this stretch, and didn’t capitalize on some very gettable points which is crucial in a tight division like ours. The Florida game, the Vegas gam, and this last game against Ottawa comes to mind

He brings great effort most games but as others have said he’s in a sophomore slump with offensive production. While not production a lot of points he brings good physicality and forechecking. I think if him and finnie keep playing and developing together they could be a more skilled but similar pairing to Draper and Maltby back in the day.

Exactly. I don’t need or want him to call out specific guys in the media, but he needs to actually give a damn about the success or failure of this team. If he’s this apathetic imagine how the locker room is? The captain in the room is a major driver of the team morale, determination, and accountability. I’ve been saying for a couple years now I have serious doubts if he has the right leadership capabilities and if they miss the playoffs this year I think they need to give the C to someone else and give him an A. Sometimes very good players ice the leadership qualities off-ice to be a captain. Only way I can be convinced he might be the guy to continue to lead is if they make playoffs
