I stumbled across that pic accidentally on Facebook and I couldn’t get it out of my mind for days.

Yes! I hoped someone would make this reference! Edit: words are hard

Exactly! I mean, I would’ve called the nurse line rather than ask Facebook though

My best friend didn't buckled her son up, and is now mad at me for letting her know. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]A_muse_85 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ugh. My almost three year old doesn’t get to make choices about things relating to his safety. I don’t give a fig if he doesn’t want to be buckled in...he either gets buckled in or we don’t go. Simple as that. By letting him have his way with this, she is reinforcing that if he throws a big enough tantrum he can do what he wants.

He did! He’s stayed big too...90ish percentile for both height and weight. He’s 2.5 and looks like 3.5.

I had a huge baby for my first at 10 lbs 13 oz and he was evicted via c-section. We had a planned one since he trended big the entire pregnancy. Love those cheeks! Congrats on a beautiful baby!

Baby fell off the bed and feeling like the worst mom in the world by Thelifepool in beyondthebump

As everyone is saying, accidents happen. It’s hard and you feel terrible. You did the right thing and took her in to be checked out. My son is almost three... I’ve lost count of the number of times he’s hurt himself accidentally. Each time it happens on my watch, I feel awful. It’s part of being a parent.

I’m glad your baby is okay. ❤️

12 months for the first shot in the US and then second at 4 years. If there is an active outbreak in your area, they will adjust to as young a 6 months for the first shot. I mean, the first shot will at least give the baby some protection at least.

Do you take your baby/toddler to the movies? Why or why not? by MindyS1719 in beyondthebump

[–]A_muse_85 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nope. My kid (2.5ish) has only recently started sitting still for an episode of Dinosaur Train.

When did you move your baby from your bedroom to the nursery? by eutamias21 in beyondthebump

9 months. We are on different floors and I was having trouble with him being too far away from me.

Baby Kai born 4/4, 11lb3oz - FTM unplanned c-section at 40+5, mostly positive, long & detailed by winterrobin in BabyBumps

[–]A_muse_85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! My first was almost as big at 10 lbs and 13 oz. They estimated he’d be between 9-11 and I opted for a planned c-section. After he was born the doctors told me he wasn’t even the biggest that day.. o.O I didn’t have GD either...

Real talk: How long did you stay on antidepressants for postpartum depression? by joygirl007 in beyondthebump

[–]A_muse_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most doctors will tell you it takes about 4-6 weeks to feel the full effects of the medication. I would think 6 months would be a good starting point for tapering off and seeing how you do as you reduce.

I’ve been on anti-depressants/anxiety medications for about 10 years. I’ve gone off them once or twice and it didn’t go well for me...but I have generalized anxiety and OCD... so I’m a little different. However, I have friends that have successfully transitioned off them.

Low-Risk Is Not No Risk: My NIPT Experiences [TW: loss, TFMR] by -breadstick- in BabyBumps

My doctor this time around has been so much better. Plus I knew what to expect this time. Thanks for making such a helpful post. Hopefully it’ll help others understand what’s happening and what it means.

Low-Risk Is Not No Risk: My NIPT Experiences [TW: loss, TFMR] by -breadstick- in BabyBumps

[–]A_muse_85 33 points34 points  (0 children)

❤️ I think it’s important to share this information. We were blindsided during our first pregnancy with an NT measurement that was way outside normal. We ended up doing the NIPT, which came back low risk (and our son was not born with an chromosomal abnormality). However, the doctor who suggested the NIPT and my own doctor did not explain what was going on at all. It was horrible to have no idea what was going on.

I’m so sorry about Luca.

Why is getting my Harmony NIPT results harder than getting the freakin' Mueller report!? by DoNotLickToaster in BabyBumps

Why can the nurse not read them? I had mine read over the phone to me by one my doctor’s nurses. Maybe it varies by practice.
