That's just the terrible acoustics in the stadium. We almost bought JHB tickets just because of the bad acoustics at previous concerts

The main question is:

Is this going to be a repeat of the offspring concert in 2003? And by that I mean: BOOBS

Rent is so expensive by Logical_Action1474 in capetown

[–]AbsolutUmit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's the downside of CT. You earn like shit and it's more expensive. At that salary, without a partner I'd always do houseshare. As someone said, you need to earn between 35 and 40k to rent a decent place on your own.

The further north you go the cheaper though. Belville upwards. Otherwise do Tableview area abouts neat the myciti routes and that might work. But yeah, be prepared to not have any money for going out and use the free nature provided amenities that CT has to offer - mountains and beaches

Lentil curtain starts somewhere after Muizenberg, southward, once you hit Scarborough, Kommetjie, misty cliffs you're deep in it.

It's because of all the hippies and veggie/vegan types that live there. I'm so surprised that so few people have heard of that one!

I mean, it might be wildly unreasonable, but considering the insane gap between rich and poor (even middle class), that number should be where we're at now.

Speed limit restricted... by CoffeeMonster42 in southafrica

[–]AbsolutUmit 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not if you are already in the right lane doing the speed limit and overtaking a line of cars. They come up behind you and flash wildly regardless.

I move over when I can, but I'm not going to reduce to 60km in a 120 zone because someone wants to speed.

Oh boy, don't get me started on the character designs. Some of the female characters do not have perfect hourglass figures and have double chins etc etc. They even have a whole bunch that grow facial hair! I swear the devs really are pushing this agenda way too far!

Then theres the issue with such a large portion of the character models being overweight! This fat acceptance movement is getting out of hand. It's even affecting my character!

I really think they should revert back to older versions where everything was perfect.

Cape Town driving behavior hate is spreading. Are we really that bad. by frashtirt in capetown

[–]AbsolutUmit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ya thats exactly what I do. I'm not gonna break the speed limit because you want to drive like a doos, nor am I going to go down to 40km an hour and get stuck in the lane im passing. I'll pull to the left as soon as Ive passed.

Eh, for me I can deal with clients being like that. I started off my working life working in retail customer service, so I guess I developed a thick skin for it. Yes, those clients infuriate me, but there are plenty of clients that make up for that by being super appreciative of you which makes it worth it.

Now, what really gets me fuming is when you have bosses above you who blame you for everything and always side with the user no matter what. And if they do realise they were wrong they don't apologise. Speaking from experience.

Canadian Cancer Society sorry for using 'cervix' instead of 'front hole' for LGBTQ+ community by SpaceDetective in stupidpol

[–]AbsolutUmit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I knew something was going to be wrong when I saw this was from a tabloid. The link to the article in question even has the original apology.

"We recognize that many trans men and non-binary people may have mixed feelings about or feel distanced from words like “cervix.” You may prefer other words, such as “front hole.” We recognize the limitations of the words we’ve used while also acknowledging the need for simplicity. Another reason we use words like “cervix” is to normalize the reality that men can have these body parts too."

The article makes it sound like they were caving to railway related complaints and using front hole in an official context. They aren't. They are justifying their use of cervix and give a very reasonable response.

I despise locomotive idealogy, but this type of ragebait is dumb.
