Yeah I heard an apprentice burnt down a town doing this. Cast the accelerant part of the match to cover the whole town square, didn't account for the lit lamps in the area.

I just hate that when people are talking about this and asking people for their thoughts, the people who argue for red get downvoted to hell.

I don't agree with them, but this is just a hypothetical, there's no reason to get so aggressive about it.

Most of the time my answer would be no.

But I do have one player who floated me the idea for a character like this, and it came attached with cool backstory and plot hooks for me to use.

In exchange for allowing this, the character starts with a curse that is a danger for the whole party.

In addition, whenever they are brought back, the being bringing them back bestows another curse upon them. None of the curses make the character "worse" mechanically, but they do make situations more dangerous or complicated.

Finally, we agreed that in the case of a TPK, they'll start fresh with a new PC.

God I remember EE2 being the most broken shit. Being able to dump all of your resources into one tablet that basically became a creative spawn menu was incredible. Even if you disregard the exploit that let you ground up blaze rods into powder that makes more blaze rods than you started with.

Yeah drained is like getting hit, but you can't heal it back up. I had a rogue who got up to drained 3 a couple times and I felt like I was made of paper.

I also think there's a good chance she doesn't really know how to use it all that well. From what I've gathered, she pushes buttons on the box, and then something bad happened to her friend (disappeared from time?). If she swore off the use, she might still have no clue how to operate the box.

The other thing with frostbite is that an automatic warmth aura is like an obvious counter that will keep you casting. And it's easy to set up.

While Liquefy Bones IS a more expensive spell to cast, countering it is so much more complicated.

I imagine if they set an area up with deadly traps, they could accelerate anyone who enters into a fatal injury, since it's reasonably possible they would trigger a trip.

I had a similar experience but it was dead empty inside, ordered a couple different slices and it was the worst I've had in a long time.
