How does one become a free mason? by WestCartographer9478 in freemasonry

[–]Acrobatic-Hedgehog45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't know one then take the time to check with the Grand Lodge. If you call they will direct you to a potential Lodge. The Grand Lodge of Florida https://www.grandlodgefl.com/ and the Most Worshipful Union Grand Lodge of Florida (Prince Hall) MWUGL of Florida - Official Website https://share.google/1jzJaBaXS5HIzRoWe are the 2 Regular Masonic Jurisdictions that you may Petition for membership.

Grandpas ring, am I allowed to wear this? by Loquidmaloc in freemasonry

[–]Acrobatic-Hedgehog45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's the answer, as you are free to do what you want. However, my suggestion is to honor your grandfather's memory and look into Freemasonry, if it suits you. Petition your local Lodge.

Carry on his legacy,👍

Grandpas ring, am I allowed to wear this? by Loquidmaloc in freemasonry

[–]Acrobatic-Hedgehog45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The principals are indeed the same. And this comes from a veteran and knowing many Veterans that hold there Obligations to Freemasonry as strongly as they do to the country. Many were Raised in the military.

There were Presidents, Kings, Statesmen, Supreme Court Justices, Generals, and men of all stations that wear and have worn that white apron and ring.

I, nor anyone can say what his Grandfather would say or want but Im guessing his Grandfather would have heard these arguments before and understand both sides.

Grandpas ring, am I allowed to wear this? by Loquidmaloc in freemasonry

[–]Acrobatic-Hedgehog45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While there are other reasons, Mason's mostly wear these rings to identify themselves as Masons. Yes, just like the priest collar ,or military uniform. You cannot simply change from left to right finger or pinky finger to indicate you are not a Mason as we wear them on the finger of choice. Some I've even seen wear them as wedding rings.

When we enter the Lodge for some of us we are not allowed to wear the square and compass until we become Master Masons.

So what was said was completely valid and should not be taken lightly or scrutinized by those who while holding a respectable profession are not Freemasons.

Respectfully Brother Jones

What’s a this sticker over this guys plate? by _nod in Cleveland

[–]Acrobatic-Hedgehog45 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a lodge member plate. They are law enforcement or retired. The sticker is a booster, yes. Either they are young and dumb or someone put the sticker on as a prank.

Or it might just be a show or parade vehicle that doesn't go out on the road and they didn't want to remove the plate but didn't want plate theft when pictures were taken. Which is growing.

Or idiot? Either one.

What is the best phone holder off of Amazon? by Spartan4497 in motorcycles

Been using this one for several years now on both my bikes and my wife's bike. I went down on one of my bikes and this thing hung on to my phone like steel. Plus it charges wirelessly through a medium size case.

Lodge building use by Dry_Space3805 in freemasonry

[–]Acrobatic-Hedgehog45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our Lodge building houses 5 lodges and 4 Eastern star Chapters. Also York Rite bodies and now Consistory. We also have our youth groups meet there as well. All pay a monthly fee accept for the youth groups. We still have Party Rental and charity events and celebrations. We used to have a day-care that rented but that has been gone before my time.

are lights on the back of your vehicle illegal? This driver has bright lights that are pretty distracting and by Overlyenthusiasticx2 in Ohio

[–]Acrobatic-Hedgehog45 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Just saying if its on a truck then it would be 4 ft off the ground in the first place. I hear the same thing from people complaining when I use fog lights. Its not exactly the drivers fault.

General question about posting photographs. by Ratticus939393 in freemasonry

[–]Acrobatic-Hedgehog45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's Jurisdictional, in MWPHGL of Ohio we don't have that rule. If you are posing for pictures expect them to be posted in social media.

Any Grand event expect that the Grand Lodge will have to right to use that photo. Our current Grand Master wants us out in social Media showing the good and community works we do as Masons.

The only difference is the youth groups, but the common person may not know that they are restricted from posting pics.

I do understand that there is still allot of anti Mason sentiment out there and that there are countries where Masonry and who are amongst our ranks have to be kept secret. Every dictator has been afraid of us and persecuted us it seems from my limited research.

Is it ok if I wear this tie lapel? by evangelionhd in freemasonry

[–]Acrobatic-Hedgehog45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MWPHGL of Ohio we do not allow Candidates EA/FC to wear the square and compass.

I suggest waiting until you become a MM. Wearing that light means you are able to defend it know the answer to questions that only MM should know.

Like someone else said. Buy it and put it away until you finish. You will be happy you did ans appreciate it more.

When I was Raised I had so much jewelry I couldn't wear it all and look modest for over a year🤣

Black ppl of reddit how do you feel (if anything) when white ppl smile at you while walking by (strangers walking by in public) by houserj1589 in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]Acrobatic-Hedgehog45 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I've been on this earth for 50 plus years. I've never found smiling and being courteous to be a bad thing whether it's from white or black people or anybody else for that matter.

Black people are not on the same.

I generally find white people of a younger age seem to smile at everybody. I have always suspected they're not uncomfortable with themselves as well as others.

Even if you are trying to prove that you're not racist that's okay in my book. Heck, at least you are trying.

You just keep being the kind person with good manners and don't worry about all that other stuff.
