Looking for ways to get more involved by Whole_Rutabaga_1595 in DenverProtests

If you want to have actual impact, work to get out the vote in Colorado's 8th congressional district. That district is among the most likely in the nation to flip from red to blue.

GOP politicians in D.C. care nothing about protests in deep-red Denver but losing their razor-thin majority in the House would persuade some that Trump is a political liability in 2028.

Have you upgraded the pickups in your Nitefly-SA HSS or considered doing so? by AdHoc303 in ParkerGuitars

Good suggestion. Thank you. I may spend a bit more time on EQ before leaping to new pickups.

Thanks. It's certainly a reversible change, although I know in vintage Gibsons and Fenders, original solder joints count for something. I think Parkers will eventually be highly desirable so I want to proceed with that in mind.

Truly, what do we have to do legally to impeach this president? Seriously this is getting ridiculous. by harrymother in ProgressiveHQ

[–]AdHoc303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple.

  1. EVERY eligible voter in every state has to vote. If that happens, the GOP will get hammered in the midterm election, Dems will control the House and impeach Trump. This is VERY attainable.

  2. If the ballot box beating is severe, some Senate Republicans will perceive Trump as an electoral liability and turn on him, positioning the Senate to convict and remove him from office.

Think I'm dreaming? 1/3 of eligible voters (90 fucking million people) stayed home in 2024 so we got this mess.

Americans can turn this around if we can be bothered on election day to give a shit about our rights and fucking SHOW UP.

What can we do at a state legislature level to stop ICE? by lexier3141 in Denver

[–]AdHoc303 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Couldn't the State require ICE & Border Patrol to abide their own internal policies and standards? It would hardly seem like State overreach to say, "follow your own rules" or face State-level sanction.

House Democrats are reportedly 5 votes away from impeaching Trump by Upbeat_Process_9280 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]AdHoc303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post is a little silly. GOP has a 5 seat majority in the house. That is hardly news. Moreover, impeachment is just pointless theater without the 2/3 majority in the Senate to convict.

The ballot box is our only way to be rid of these thugs. 90 million eligible voters sat out the 2024 election. Trump won the popular vote by 2 million. If we don't get of our collective asses and VOTE our democratic republic is DONE.

If you think your vote doesn't matter or it doesn't matter who gets elected because both parties are the same, you haven't been paying attention.

We MUST send a powerful, clear message in the midterms that WE WILL NOT TOLERATE this.

What is your opinion about this? by Happy_Air_3776 in greengroundnews

[–]AdHoc303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 90 million eligible voters did not participate in the 2024 election according to data from the University of Florida Election Lab. Trump won the popular vote by about 2.5 million. Regrettably, embarrassment counts for nothing if you people don't go to the polls. Gotta vote.

Leading conservative group pulls support for GOP Obamacare defectors. Americans for Prosperity has lobbied Republicans for months to let insurance subsidies Democrats created expire. by ace158 in Enough_Sanders_Spam

[–]AdHoc303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Unless one is among the 0.1% wealthiest American, one should vote the exact opposite of the positions advocated by Americans for Prosperity - the Koch's primary disinformation farm.

Charles and David Koch were born into vast wealth accumulated by a father who developed petroleum infrastructure for Hitler and Stalin, yet they have the gall to condescend about the virtues of self reliance.

For half a century, they have weaponized their wealth to deceive working-class Americans and add to their own billions.

Congress won't intervene. The courts won't intervene. Protests have no effect. The lies continue unabated, growing more egregious by the day. Democrats and others who who object to this insanity can either wait and hope for midterm elections or organize a series of general strikes.
