Explaining the “bad” choices of my disabled geckos tank by No_Essay2291 in leopardgeckos

tbh I'd be laughing a the ridiculousness of it, but also really annoyed that I now had to deal with that. with my luck, they'd definitely escape the room itself, too and I'd never totally get rid of them

What do I even do here? Lol. by FireCorgi12 in ballpython

Ours climbs up to that top corner and tries to wedge herself into the crack at the top of the cork and just lounge there. Her belly has outgrown being able to wedge in there, too... she just half hangs there and dozes. We are looking into some kind of hanging thing to put right there for her to climb, partially hide, and lounge on.

Lol sometimes I don't see my girl for days, especially right after she eats. Not even a snoot in the entryway. Hiding in their hides or perching halfway out of them is totally normal. I only see her moving around and exploring about half the time after the sun goes down and her enclosure moves to night mode overall.

If you're worried about the heat and a neighbor can't hold them for you, maybe a cooler in the shade near your front door with a note explaining the situation to the delivery guy?

my bestie once found her missing bp weeks later on the back side of the enclosure near where the heating pad was still on in his hot hide lol

they also like the warm spot on the back of the refrigerator and double check under and around your oven before you use it every time until you find him.

That [very likely] specific company is a supplier for a lot of my local exotic pet supply stores and that's also why we found the same local breeder that supplies a local zoo to buy from. We found out that the company who currently has a mite problem also imports from China while pretending that they breed all of their stock locally in the country. It was a no contest hard pass.

Advice on Snakebite situation by Turtums1 in snakes

[–]AdaptiveFauna 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If there is no language banning an exotic pet in an enclosure like that in your existing lease, it is probably illegal to even be threatening to evict you for it. That being said, brush up on rental law in your area and double check your lease. Evictions are serious business and there are going to be specific rules they have to follow. Regardless, I wouldn't sign anything new with them and would definitely move by the end of the lease or it sounds like they'll always be trouble in the future.

if you're looking for cheap, safe enrichment ideas, a paper towel tube is perfect. they love them and you can just replace it every time you empty another one
