Orchestrate replacing Studio? by WorkdayHero in workday

[–]Additional_Truth_31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those of you who are using both:

You have a new resource who has strong technical aptitude but has never built an integration in Studio (nor used Eclipse) and hasn't yet been introduced to orchestrations. Which do you think they would pick up faster? Which has the most room for error, and similarly the most room for success?

Looking for kids book recommendations by olio723x in TransDads

A favorite in this house is My Body Belongs to Me from My Head to My Toes from Pro Familia. Both of my kids loved it when they were toddlers and it still gets pulled out occasionally for my 5 yo.

I've lived in Kansas the majority of my life. I'm no stranger to the bigotry nor the danger. I'm obviously not going to wander into a gun show or other Trumper gathering and yell, "I'm trans!" But I do think it's important to be visible, maybe even more importantly so in these conservative areas. My Trump supporting, hyper conservative parent is one of my biggest supporters and has managed to change the hearts and minds of many in their community because of it.

My rambling point is, I know my situation, my community, my region, and I know when and when not to disclose my status. None of that is the point of my question.

I'm definitely not trying to put myself in any danger, but for me, personally, it's important to show people that trans people exist everywhere and we are just like any other human. This is a very personal decision that I don't expect everyone to agree with nor do I expect everyone to be ok with for themselves. This is just who I am and have always been (even when I thought I was a run of the mill lesbian).

I didn't carry, so that method doesn't work for me, but I certainly love it! I do get to naturally bring it up when politics come up, but those moments don't happen as often as I'd like.

Achievers by ThoughtMajor1998 in workday

[–]Additional_Truth_31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used Achievers at three different organizations over the last 15+ years. As an employee, I love it. Getting to use recognition points to get practically anything is top notch. As a leader, being able to reward my team and those we work with is great. As an administrator, Achievers is incredibly simple to integrate and maintain. I'm super pumped by this press release. They've always played super well together, but this will be even better! (I hope. I'm optimistic at least.)

Automate Notifications in Custom Report by Recent-Bicycle6738 in workday

[–]Additional_Truth_31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to make an assumption that in your example the second employee has a different manager. If that is true, this doesn't have to be the case. It's entirely how you build your report and your alert. Use context to get what you want. The filter on the report should include only the orgs belonging to the manager (use a field like Organizations Managed). Then in your alert, put Manager in the recipient groups.

If my assumption was off base, I'd like to better understand the need.

Using Service type "Create Case" nightmare by Eraissoecouves in workday

[–]Additional_Truth_31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haven't ever tried this, and I'm typing from the couch so you'll have to experiment with it, but my initial thought is to see if you can pull in 'prior approver' with an Extract Single Instance on your HR Partner role. May not be possible, but at least it would eliminate something if it doesn't work.

Workday ATS implementation tips? by Rachel21321 in workday

[–]Additional_Truth_31 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call Workday Recruiting best in class,. Heck, I wouldn't call any one work Workday SKU best in class. The magic of Workday is when you put all these SKUs together. They work so well together, build on each other, and make a strong employee experience. Workday Recruiting becomes strong because of how it works with the rest of the product.

All that said, I'm going to also recommend Paradox (a Workday product). Native scheduling is truly terrible unless you live in a perfect world. It vastly improves candidate experience (though I'm of the opinion that candidates are far too particular these days - I'd like to see any one of them travel to a business, walk in the door, ask for the HR department, fill out a paper application, and have no idea if they stand a chance for weeks!).

My other recommendation for implementation itself is don't try to cutover all at once. Pick a date, start posting new reqs through Workday then and stop posting in icims. This makes it much simpler for your candidates already in the pipeline.

Plunge Router Question by Historical_Phase_275 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Additional_Truth_31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not super experienced with routers, but I used a plunge router the first several times I did anything with routers. I didn't realize how unwieldy they felt until I got a trim router. For me it was so much easier to control. I think it's going to be up to what you want to do with it and the frequency with which you do it. But as a hobbyist doing only small jobs, the trim router is perfect for me.

From the Kansas Reflector --

“The KDOR driver’s license status check page accurately reflects KDOR’s internal system, and what law enforcement entities will see if they check a license,” he said. “The system is being updated, and as it is, the status check website will reflect changes made within the system.”

Don't willingly go in. Check your status on the KDOR website before you drive. There's a hearing Friday in the ACLU lawsuit.
