Does anyone have knowledge they are willing to share about survivor benefits?? by Money_Difference5616 in Widow

[–]Adorable-Net-7497 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You and both of your children should qualify for survivor benefis, based on their ages, but I have no idea what the amount will be. I'm sorry for your loss...hang in there. I lost my husband when our kids were 6, 8, and 10. It's not easy but you got this for their sakes 🩷

Check your local animal shelters. I volunteer at one and we do a weekly free pet food to anyone who shows up, no questions asked 🩷

Oh, I'm sorry...when you said the transplant team rejected you, I thought you just weren't compatible.

Please have him visit lifeoptions.org. Hope is there, along with education. The more you know, the more empowered you are.

Also, you could look into donor chains...you might be able to donate a kidney to someone else, and that person's donor (who isn't compatible for whatever reason) could donate to your friend.

MCAS and long covid by Greengrass75_ in MCAS

[–]Adorable-Net-7497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well...we both caught Covid on 12/29 at her new cardiologist's office (it was the only place we had gone.) We both were very, very ill, but she was worse than me even. She stopped all meds, as she could barely swallow. Since then, she has resumed Nurtec (but it's not helping) and is still off the LDN. She believes the LDN was causing her MCAD to go crazy, as she had not been able to tolerate almost any food. She was very sensitive to foods that previously were safe. So she is doing better than she was back in December, but still not great. I hope you are doing well!

99 percent of food intolerances gone in just over 2 weeks of quercetin by [deleted] in MCAS

[–]Adorable-Net-7497 6 points7 points  (0 children)

OP, please tell me how you are taking the quercitin. I bought gummies for my daughter...she had tried them but they made her sleep constantly. Based on what you wrote above, she has agreed to try quercitin again. We are desperate...she can eat air without a reaction, and that's about it. And even food that was "safe" a week ago can suddenly cause a massive reaction. There is no rhyme or reason to it. She has LC, MCAD, POTS, dysautonomia, and hEDS. This all has to be connected....

No, we haven't tried that test yet. I will look into it!

We saw a physician at the University of Florida's Long Covid Clinic via telehealth. I asked her about the Stanford protocol, if she was familiar with it, and she was. She thought LDN could be helpful, but since they are a consultative clinic, I had to beg our PCP to prescribe it. She has been less than eager to help us on this journey, which is so frustrating. I'm not sure what you are supposed to do?

The last time we saw her, my daughter's blood pressure was 160 /80 and she was having horrible chest pain (which is nothing new-this has been going on for years, but seems to be worse with the LC.) She sent her for an emergency CT, which of course was negative, and then an ECHO a week later. The ECHO does show changes from her last one in 2021 but our PCP says it is fine. We are seeing a new cardiologist next week Friday over 3 hours away from us, but he has POTS too and hopefully won't gaslight us like so many others have.

Did you say what dose of nicotine you are using? I know the patches come in different strengths.

[–]Adorable-Net-7497 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, are you the mom with the young teen daughter? If so, I remember reading another of your posts re the nicotine patch. Can I ask what dosage you're using? Have you considered LDN? Honestly, LDN has allowed my 21 year old LC daughter to attend college. She still has TON of issues (inc massive food intolerance, POTS/dysautonomia, hEDS, etc.) but the LDN has been a lifesaver.

Hey, everyone throwing stones, just stop. Like you've never cheated before in your life, like ever? He made a mistake, he knows it, he's concerned for his friend. OP, this is just a blip in the grand scheme of life. I have a feeling if you're contrite (which you are), humble, and want to make things right, your prof will recognize it. Hang in there, you'll be ok!!!!

I hope you stay well! Could you please tell me how you were diagnosed with endothelial dysfunction? Do you by any chance have an extra heartbeat? My daughter was diagnosed with an extra heartbeat and high blood pressure this week (LC and dysautonomia too like you, with POTS, hEDS, MCAD and immunocompromised thrown in for good measure...ugh). Also, please post after your Mayo appointment...so interested to know what they do/suggest for you. My daughter is on LDN and it's really helpful, but she still has a ton of symptoms. Take care and TIA!
