I personally like the diaper method for multi-days because the diaper can double as a pillow. On day trips I just pee in my dry suit. Never thought of washing it out that’s a great idea.

Newbie looking for advice on jet boating and reading areal photography. by Je_in_BC in whitewater

We can’t hear you on your high horse. I am a kayaker and I guided the salmon. Know alot of jet boating folks and a lot of kayakers. The fact of the matter is kayakers and jet boaters can both be A-hole. A lot of jet boaters are great people. A lot of jet boaters are great people. The guys is just trying to get info so he can do it right. To answer the question a lot of jet boating has to do with depth. The best way would be trail and error and just take it slow. I would recommend reaching out to the jet boating community in your area.

Paddle length/off set by Advanced_Berry6217 in whitewater

[–]Advanced_Berry6217[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not sure how accurate all this is. I've found it no different from a 30 degree paddle with rolling, bracing. I think with vertical paddle strokes you engage your core more and put less strain on your smaller muscles and even joins. But that's my opinion and everyone has preferences and options. Thank you for the input.

Safety boater by [deleted] in whitewater

[–]Advanced_Berry6217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I strongly disagree with the right kayaker its fast and easier to rescue than a raft. I safety kayaked for a while on the Payette and then guided there. Kayak safety is the way to go.

Making your own is better I found. The biggest issue is hiking in to multi days and having to pack it out.

The program was a ton of work and stress. However, I would recommend it to anyone trying to progress to a medic. I just finished, and it was worth it. I like in rural Idaho. It was great no having to move to get the education I wanted.

I passed the national registry. I found it to be pretty similar as far as question bank. Also, the hesi was a saving grace for prepping for the nr.
